James Cameron for X-Men
Tim Burton or Guillermo del toro for Ghost Rider
Peter Jackson for Hulk
John Woo for The Punisher
Steven Spielberg for Silver Surfer
Brad Bird for The Fantastic Four

I agree with all except Spielberg & Proyas. I would move Cameron to Silver Surfer as well.

It's a shame that Affleck was already involved with a ****ty DD movie, because as a director, he'd really be kind of perfect.

Del Torro would be PERFECT for Dr. Strange. It would be EPIC.

Guy Ritchie for Deadpool (or Wolverine, Punisher) as well. Revolver sold me on that.

Tarrantino would be great on Heroes for Hire. He and Ritchie would do well with many of the same properties, they would just be different.

James Cameron would be great for a Silver Surfer (or any "cosmic") movie. Hadn't thought of that before.

Peter Jackson would have done a good Thor as well. He does "epic" well so any team film could be good with him.

I would move Cameron to Silver Surfer as well.

But X-Men has a lot of characters, Cameron would bring the right running time and handle the ensemble characters better.

Then George Lucas should direct Silver Surfer with Spielberg producing.

Well thats true, but look out how many characters Avatar had, & Cameron did it very well. And Cameron has a great track record with sci-fi (Terminator, Aliens, Abyss,Avatar) I dont think I would use Lucas for anything, he ruined Star Wars so why make him ruin another before its even started.

Which directors do you feel are appropriate for an adaptation of a Marvel comic book?

Example(s):

Quentin Tarantino - Deadpool or Heroes for Hire
Martin Scorcese - Punisher
Steven Spielberg - Fantastic Four or X-Men
Wow what a good freakin question and good choices you have there.
I can only say this and it might be a cop out but:
Christopher Nolan -Daredevil.
I actually think he would be more suited for Daredevil then Batman

I still like Tim Burton for Batman he had the definitive Gothic feel.

I like this. I think he (along with his co-writers, of course) has done a great job with Batman, incorporating the mob-type villains and "real world" type threats that inhabit the Daredevil universe. I'd love to see his take on DD, Bullseye, and Kingpin, especially.

J.J. Abrams or James Cameron could probably make a pretty sweet Silver Surfer movie.

del toro for dr. strange
jason reitman for fantastic 4
wes anderson for namor
michael haneke for silver surfer

Edgar Wright would basically be perfect for an xmen movie. After watching the scenes in scott pilgrim with Brandon Routh as soon as he powers up would look crazy for xavier or even magneto.

Tony or Ridley Scott for a mature grown up Amazing Spider-MAN
James Cameron for Hulk
J.J. Abrams for X-Men
Terry Gilliam for Dr. Strange
Peter Jackson for Avengers trilogy
Christopher Nolan for Fantastic Four
Doug Liman for Daredevil
Robert Rodriguez for Deadpool
David Fincher for Wolverine
Steven Spielberg for Silver Surfer
Guillermo del toro for Ghost Rider
Forest Whitaker for Black Panther
Martin Scorcese for Punisher

Definitely NOT:
Edgar Wright
Bryan Singer
Joss Whedon
Matthew Vaughn
Marc Webb
Tim Story
Mark Steven Johnson
Bret Ratner

As many have mentioned. Guillermo del Toro for Dr. Strange.

If you think about it.......he has made revenge type films with 'Outlaw Josey Wales' ,has won academy awards for his directing with Unforgiven & Million Dollar Baby......if its something that would interest him, I could see Clint Eastwood doing a Punisher remake.

  • Heroes for Hire – Joe Carnahan
  • Namor - Chris Columbus
  • Silver Surfer - J.J. Abrams
  • X-Men - Duncan Jones

I suggested Tarantino for Deadpool after I saw Kill Bill, it just makes sense.

Frank Miller for Daredevil? The dude said Jason Statham would be a great Matt Murdock. I love his run on Daredevil, but he needs to stay as far away from a movie as possible.

I second J.J. Abrams for The Silver Surfer.

I really like this one. Visually, he could mash up the best aspects of both Avatar and The Abyss.

It seems with Cameron doing Titanic & Aliens..especially the Abyss.....that NAMOR is a great fit for him.
