IDW Sonic the Hedgehog

Anyone reading this comic series? I wasn't too keen on the Archie run (It based itself more on the 1993 cartoon and less on the games)

I'm really impressed by what IDW has done with Sonic though. It's a universe separate from the Archie series, more closely tied to the video games.

The series begins after the end of Sonic Forces, with Eggman MIA and his robots wreaking havoc. Sonic travels from town to town helping villagers and meeting old friends.

The art by Tracey Yardley is really spectacular. I highly reccommend checking this series out!

Ian Flynn is the headwriter. It's really entertaining so far.

Issue 10 was just released and is already sold out on IDW's website. (But you can still find it from other online shops) If you haven't gotten into this series yet, you're really missing out! (Issue 4 is already commanding some somewhat high prices on eBay, and the series isn't even a year old yet)

Issue 10 features an epic war between Sonic's allies and Metal Sonic's army. (Plenty of nods to the 2003 game, Sonic Heroes) Lots of crazy action. As a Sonic fan, I am really geeking out over how great the IDW series is.

IDW has partnered with SEGA America to release Sonic The Hedgehog Annual 2019, an oversize comic featuring the classic video game character and friends. IDW has provided ComicBook.com an exclusive first look at the book, which you can see below.

The annual — which weighs in at 48 pages — features a sprawling crew of creators, including four newcomers to the property. James Kochalka (Johnny Boo), Cavan Scott (Star Wars Adventures), Jack Lawrence (Transformers: Lost Light), and Gigi Dutrieux will have their firstSonic work featured in the annual. Ian Flynn, Evan Stanley, Caleb Goellner, Jonathan Gray, Jennifer Hernandez, and Diana Skelly will return from other Sonic issues to contribute to the massive book.

I'm on volume three of the graphic novel... I love this series. What they have done with Metal Sonic is awesome. Love the art as well. Will continue collecting the graphic novels.
