Thier team up on Batman Begins was outstanding. How in the hell it didn't win best score or was even nominated puzzels me. Certainly held his own with Elfman's great heroic 89 score and that's saying alot!

I think they will be back if the director is back so os the composer (s)

I hope both of them come back becuae if only one can do it some of the feel from the first one would be lost.

I hope they come back, but I also hope that they hire another composer to help them. This way none of us can say oh we don't want Howard and Zimmer, we want someone else. Or we want Howard and Zimmer back. I hope David Jylian( don't know how to spell his last name) works with them. He's made music for Memento and Insomnia.

I'm sure they will be back since Nolan is back to direct Batman 2

I'm a big fan of the Begins score. I would be pretty disapointed if they didn't return.

Yeah that would suck big time, I listen to the BB score everyday and I count the days when the new score is out by JNW & HZ!

Yeah, I hope they can work out their schedules to repeat the partnership.

the music from begins is so powerfull ! i still get goosbumps from mollosus and many more tracks
and i hope they are both coming back and keeping the same theme

if we could only get one of them, i'd rather have been James Newton Howard.....but i'd love for both of them to make a return.

I get the goosebumps when it plays as Bruce is surrounded by the bats in the cave, or when they invade Arkham or when the city is under the effect of the fear gas and Batman gets ready for the action...

I hope so too. They determined the overall mood of the film. The subtle cues of the music really enhance films. Thats once concern I have about Spiderman 3 that Elfman is gone so it might not have the same feel musically, and thats a main component to linking the films together aside from story and actors. But if I had anyone back between the two, it'd be Zimmer as he composed a majority of the action sequences. I really wish they had put the score for the monerail sequence on the soundtrack though! It was by far the greatest musical cue in the whole film! Hopefully next time we'll get more of the action cues in the official release.

Yes, we need them back, I loved their work on BB. Exciting, moody and even touchy in some moments.

I neither can return, go with David Julyan. His score for The Descent is one of the most haunting I've heard in the past 10 years. It's incredible.

Didn't he score Nolan's two films or was it one of them before Nolan did Batman Begins?

Yeah, he's worked with Nolan three times: Following, Memento and Insomnia.

Ah yes three times I wasn't sure which, Julyn gets BB2 I would mind cos I loved those scores for Nolan's non-Batman movies.

Thats not gonna happen. The WB is somewhat invested in this and they know the soundtrack will sell if they have big name artists composing the score. As much as we like to believe the studios are giving our film makers artistic freedom, they are still looking to make money. And we've already tweaked enough the formula for begins by replacing Goyer with Nolan's brother. Lets try and keep everything else the same por favor, but thats another argument going on in another thread lol.

Thing is, whilst the score was good, it was just a typical Hans Zimmer score to me- i think theres so much more they can do with it. And if neither can come back- get Gregson Williams.

I was really, really, really impressed with the score they did for Batman Begins. It was much better than I expected and had a very classy, cinematic feel to it. I do indeed hope they come back.

Just have to say, i'm shocked.......it seems there is one thing all of us fanboys agree on. lol, and to think, we all thought it would pale in comparison to Elfman's score, granted, Elfman's has it's place embetted in history, Begins' was pretty damn good.

Yeah, that's the thing. I personally didn't think anything could top or replace Elfman's score, as in my mind, it defines Batman. But the score for Batman Begins just really works for some reason and definitely fits the overall tone of the film. I listen to the soundtrack constantly.
