would that constitute having a superpower. Superstrength gained from using lots of steroids.

Not just super strength, but a whole gaggle of super powers!

Super Acne!
Super Tiny Testicles!
Super Rage Issues!

you also run the risk of moobs, and baldness.

hahaha yeah right, to get even half way to Bane, as well as a massive amount of roids, you'd also have to eat 9 meals a day, consisting of about 1000 calories in each meal. You'd also have to work out like a demon, and consume loads of Protein shakes etc.

to get like Bane would cost a fortune!! :woot:

Super aromatase function kicking in and converting your testosterone to estrogen at a higher rate than happened before you went on anabolics.

Super oily skin.

Super B.O.

Super-imbalanced hormonal profile when you come off the steroids even if you ran a proper PCT, causing everything from manboobs to depression to sexual dysfunction.

Yeah, there's a lot of fun things that go with steroid use.

Pretty much true for the most part. Using steroids doesn't equal instant muscles or strength. You have to work out and eat to support the growth; steroids just allow for faster and more efficient recovery and tissue repair so you can work out more intensely and more frequently and therefore realize greater muscle and strength gains.

What do you need steroids for Fred? I thought you were a super soldier with a giant ass gun just waiting to go into Iraq and beat up on some crazy A-rabs? What you still doing posting here?

I did add you'd also have to work out like a demon.

didn't Chris Rock say something about not needing to work out due to having a gun.

well that dude has an RPG right there.

I like how he points the RPG at the cameraman while posing for the picture. Safety first, kids!

I like how that one dude is wearing a bike lamp on his head.

While I'm sure Jag, Spoons and Devil have come along and cleared this up already, steroids will not make you superstrong and super-muscular. Hard work will do that.

I'm sure you've met cancer patients, or others who take steroids medicinally, and they are a far cry from superhuman; in fact they're usually fat, bloated, and covered in ance. While not all steroids carry the same side effects, and while some display no side effects even while on the most potent of steroids, steroids are a science unto themselves for the user. There are very specific dietary and training guidelines and programs they use while on them.

There are also a lot of idiots who use steroids because, like your thread implies, they think they will get superpowers or it will fix very serious flaws in their training and dieting philosophies for them without any real work being required on their part. Those people end up creating the worst name for anabolics, because they often fall prey easily to the side effects, and also don't monitor their usage. Steroids are to only be implemented with a purpose, and only to be implemented after you've exhausted your genetics limits and have a clear understanding of your diet and exercise requirements. If you can't do it without steroids, you can't do it with them either.
