If they remade all 7 Harry Potter films would it make money?

Would a Harry Potter remake be a hit?

  • Yes - Harry Potter is huge

  • No - People have already seen it and wouldn't bother

  • meh

The final battle in the film was much better for it's medium. That book s*** wouldn't fly. Harry was talking too goddamn much. This wasn't being directed by Aaron Sorkin. :o

Well I mean I preferred to have the bit with him talking **** to voldemort in the movie as well as what happened in the movie.

And no centaurs ... :down

I was a fan of the final battle in the book more than the movie... Like the confrontation part where Harry was talking smack to Voldemort with everyone watching.

Agreed. Also the snapping of the elder wand annoyed me. I know they did this because they didn't want the final conversation with the Dumbledore portrait.

I would simply like to see the books fleshed out rather than hacked to pieces to fit into a 2 hour movie.

With regards to regards to Voldermort's appearance, they should make it like it is described in the book. Give the TV series a clear parental guidance rating and if kids are freaked out by the terrifying nature of Voldermort's look it's their fault for watching a TV they are clearly too young for.

lol you people are talking about a TV series like it's something that will EVER happen. :funny:

Uh no, I am not.

Always so bitter lol

Aside from the eyes, the visual was never a problem for me. My issue was more that the moment of the resurrection didn't give me nearly as much chills as I had when I read the book.

It's rushed, but the actual moment of him resurrecting is pretty neat.

There is a moment in the resurrection when Voldemort looks close to how I imagine him. His cheeks are sunken and hollow, he has no ears just holes like a snake, and his eyes have slit pupils. But then it continues on until he looks like a human who lost his nose in an unfortunate trasnfiguration mishap.

The cauldron morphing into his cloak was sensational. That was a massive improvement to what was described in the book.

Realy? I found that moment one of the best in the film, we had all the right mood, the dark scenary, the creepy music, and the slow resurrection of the dark lord, as his body started to form in front of our eyes.

What annoyed me in the movie was after Harry defeated Voldemort at the end of DH part 2, then he just sort of wanders back to the castle and hardly anybody reacts to the fact he just won. You'd never know the huge evil they'd been battling the entire saga was just wiped out by Harry. The reaction is more, "Oh, hi, Harry. You killed Voldemort? Well, that's nice." At least in the book it happened in front of everyone and they knew what he did. In the movie it's like they couldn't care less about it.

^ yes yes yes this

No one seemed to give a ****... even when it was just Harry, Hermione, and Ron... no one acknowledged the fact the just beat voldemort lol

This.

Having Harry and Voldermort pace around each other in front and then fightof the entire cast would have been far more dramatic.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if WB start the series all over again in a not too distant future. Perhaps as early as next decade. Especially if the DC cinematic universe fails to take off the same way the Marvel-movies did I can imagine WB might be perhaps a little desperate and starts looking into some dormant franchises to try to milk some more money.

It would make money but it would be stupid. Only for money.

Man I want this TV series and man do I want this story told accurately on screen.

Likewise. I am a firm believer that the movies totally dropped the ball, leaving out the core elements that made the books great. They are soulless, cash grabbing adaptations that are gutted of the heart that makes the books exceptional.

they couldn't even get Harry's eyes right, like come the **** on. I get why they couldn't but does that not bother like everyone else??

''You tend to shoot for months and get cut out of most of the movie. But this last time I learned to stick my head very close to one of the three — you know, Emma or Daniel or Rupert. I was always saying, 'I'm not going to be cut out this time!' It's self-preservation in the Potter films.'' —Bonham Carter

This is the problem with the movies.

I know! It was just so baffling. Here they've been fighting Voldemort through seven movies, and not only is there no big climactic fight in front of everybody, NObody seems to EVEN NOTICE that Harry just killed the big evil that everyone was terrified of, the one that's caused so much death and destruction!! I mean, I know people are grieving and all, but shouldn't SOMEbody at least give Harry a fist bump or something?? It honestly seems as if nobody knows what Harry did.

I have absolutely no idea why they filmed it that way. It makes no sense at all.

Dan's eyes reacted to the contacts. Some people can't wear them. It took a lot of trial and error for my mom to find a pair of contacts that her eyes would accept and even those bother her eyes. And those are clear contacts. Colored contacts for films are slightly more thick so if the person already has trouble with contacts then it's out of the question. They could have used cgi, but PS's budget was stretched pretty tight as it was. Animating Dan's eyes in every single scene would have added up.

The color of Harry's eyes aren't what's important. Him having his mother's eyes is. So if Dan's eyes are the same color as the eyes of the actress who plays Lilly that's good enough. That's being said, to tell the truth I don't even know what color Dan's or that actress's eyes are. I doubt I'm the only person who doesn't know or care enough to pay attention.

I think the movies work well as complements to the books. Books first, movies second. That's why by Movie 7 hit, I decided to read the books for the first time and wow, I was floored how good they were. I'll admit that since I read the books after the fact, it's hard to separate the actors from the novel versions of their characters.

The books are amazing. They're the new Star Wars. The movies don't exactly brings that gravity, but they're enjoyable. They're more plot-telling than story-telling, hiting the important beats, while the books is completely story-telling.

I do like the fact that the sets and locations that they used are amazing though.

again... lack of centaurs... Bane, Firenze
