5. Sorcerer's Stone

OOTP, with POA at a very, very close second.

I haven't seen OOTP yet, so here is my ranking so far:

1-Prisoner of Azkaban
2-Goblet of fire
3-Sorcerer's Stone
4-Chamber of secrets

SO many people love PoA. I don't understand why. The book was really good, but the movie was just horrible. Then again I hated the time traveling part in the movie. The acting I must say was not good at all, and I'm usually a supporter of the acting in the films.

That was so stupid how everyone gets on the boot and it starts spinning. wtf?! and then those Irish wizards really cracked me up.

1. Order of the Pheonix
2. Azkaban
3. Goblet
4. Chamber
5. Stone

they all get better for me....

never really liked the first..and the second was meh..third was good...fourth was awesome...fifth was amazing

the first two seemed like the same movie. They were so annoying. Third was fun and all. Fourth was descent. How come Harry, Ron, and Ron's brothers had such long hair?!

Prisoner Of Azkaban.
Goblet Of Fire.
Order Of The Phoenix.
Sorcerors Stone.
Chamber Of Secrets.

They for me are in that order but i also agree that each films gets better atleast special effects wise.
Except for the werewolf in POA. Its the only part in that film i didn't like.

i don't know if i'll ever understand the hate towards chamber of secrets.

it was just as good as the rest of the movies, and was a pretty spot on adaptation, too, if i'm not mistaken. as far as i can see, there's nothing wrong with it that's not wrong with the other films in the series.

but, anyway, i voted order of the phoenix. it's the most grown up movie so far, and the acting just gets better and better.

it couldve been the best adaptation ever... but its still adapted off of a meh story..

Favorite to least favorite:

1. Order of the Phoenix
2. Goblet of Fire
3. Prisoner of Azkaban
4. Chamber of Secrets
5. Sorcerer's Stone

I have yet to see OOTP, but Chamber of Secrets was my favorite of the series thus far (OOTP pending of course).

Its the "Casino Royale Effect". Anytime something margianally better comes along (POA and Cuaron)...everything prior to it is automatic crap (The Columbus movies).

This is what most of the people I've talked to have felt about Azkaban. Seeing all the love for it here has kind of surprised me, to be honest. It is one of my favorites too, I'm just not used to seeing it be so highly praised.

Just saw the latest Harry Potter and this is how I rank them.

1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Order of the Phoenix
3. Goblet of Fire
4. Sorcerer's Stone
5. Chamber of Secrets.

Overall, OOTP was amazing but fell a little short of POA for me.

I am so surprised that Prisoner is getting so much love, it is by far my favorite but I hear they kind of destroy the book

I think they all score about a 7/10 or higher with the last 3 getting 9's or higher

I've always been a fan of POA and I had thought it was a fan favorite as well. But, I haven't read the books so I judge each movie as a film. For me, POA had beautiful photography, music, seamless special effects, a very engaging story and it just had all of the elements that made it amazing. OOTP was almost there, and it may be on the same level if I watch both back to back. I'll probably read books 1-5 now that I've seen the movies but I think for the HP series I will always watch the movies first so I don't judge it based on the books.

Seems funnier that the films are getting shorter now while the books got longer. I guess that's the WB's reaction to people complaining that the first two films were too long. The irony is that the first two films probably could have been successfully shorter given that the first two books didn't have nearly enough story material to justify those running times (plus the simple fact that Columbus, hard as he tried, just didn't have the knack for fantasy).

Hav'nt seen OOTP, but I'm betting that ones the best. The first two were good, but far to children friendly, but thats kinda how the first two books were, so I dont blame Columbus. POA is my favorite, easily, just because I loved Cauron's style, plus the book was great. I liked GOF, but I'm sure I'll like OOTP much better, and probably like HBP the best when that comes out just because the whole book, especially the last chapters, were amazing.

My opinion is all 5 films were all well done. A great trilogy. I think many agree that the last 3 Potter films are not that far apart as meaning Preferance. For me POA is slightly ahead of GOF. OOTP could be almost tied for me with GOF but GOF is slightly better by a hair.
My point is for me all a pretty close in ranking as far as liking them.

I liked Half-Blood Prince better than either GOF or OOTP, even though I thought Rowling did a poor job of executing the Harry/Ginny romance - and I'm saying that as someone who wanted those two to hook up.

Chamber of Secrets is my personal favorite. Not sure what the best is, though. The great thing about Harry Potter is that it always stays consistent in quality.

The time traveling in PoA was done very poorly. Book and movie.
