If Time Travel Was to Ever be Discovered...

Also, are you of the opinion that a time traveler going back and affecting the past would create a divergent timeline, or alter the present one?

Was talking about Terminator 2 with a few peeps and my mind became blown.

time-travel has already been proven through multiple equations that it is not possible. Most things we haven't discovered how to do it's because we don't have the technology. Time travel isn't possible no matter what breakthroughs we have in the future

From what I understand, they say you cant time travel backwards. Forward is supposed to be a possibility through light speed time dilation or something like that. Or the aforementioned bottle of Jack.

So what you are saying is that if we use the Stargate right when the solar flares hit we might be able to?


And wait a minute, you just said we can't travel backwards yet you started this thread asking if we should've seen time travelers from the future by now

See this is where I have small problem. How can we travel forward if it has not happened yet? Bear with me. In order to travelf forward it would mean that the world is on a predesitined course of action that we have yet to make or do or play whatever part our role in the furture will be. The past I would think would be more viable since it has already happened. The travel to the future IMO is to believe that we have a predetermined fate/destiny already unfolding. Though it can be changed if we can indeed go both forward and back in time. (hope that made sense)

I didnt say we can't, I said thats what the big brains speculate. Personally I believe anything is possible. But I have been reading comic books since I was 8 so there's that.

Maybe some of todays most rich and powerful and influential people are really time travelers....that came back with knowledge or skills no one else had and made their way here using it.

And what's to say that time travellers haven't presented themselves in our history but have decided that it's probably best not to ruin the entire timeline by coming back and giving us time travel technology years before we were supposed to have it.

Also. I'm from the future. You should buy stock in Google and Yahoo. This is 1974 right?
