Wait for the planet to blow up again, then caress the sweet sounds of nothingness while you float threw space.![]()
Yeah right, if they're immortal too, it's all going to be "we can float endlessly in space together!~".
would'nt just grabbing a space ship be a better idea?

From where? You're on some crappy planet with blue immortal chicks. You think they got space travel?![]()
How so? You fell into their planet. They didn't find you floating in space. They could just as easily be as dumb as Beavers. Sexy, sexy Blue Beavers.![]()
Based on what?
Chances are, if there is intelligent life, we'll have to find them, not the other way around.
Yes, I would. I'm not adverse to the idea of starting anew all the time, moving around and going through a new set of people. I'd probably like to be immortal at the age of 26, then stop aging. Oh, by the way, if you don't age do your hair and nails still grow or not?
Oh wait. I just thought of something. So, if you can't ever die what would happen when the sun finally blows up? D:
I would NEVER want true immortality. Where you can't be killed by any means. That would be a terrible curse.
That would be f**ked up though if as soon as you make the soft immortality deal, you get hit by a bus and die.![]()
It almost be like a Wily E. Coyote moment. That would be f**ked up though if as soon as you make the soft immortality deal, you get hit by a bus and die.![]()
How would you know?
You only have the perspective of a mortal life, and you are still in your youth, maybe you will start thinking mortal life is a terrible curse, as you start to get older.
I mean, what the hell is life anyway right? I don't think you are supposd to be able to nail it down exactly, it is constantly changing as your experience and knowledge increases.
That is what life is about in the first place, one big cosmic enigma wrapped in a puzzle of a mindbending surprise party, a helluva lot of folk can't even handle a mortal life.
Our conciousness/soul is energy I hear, so we go on in one form or another forever, if a person or persons were selected to stay in that one concious form forever, it would be for a damn good reason.
edit: and wth is time anyway? A way of measuring our conciousness?
I think some folk in here need to start throwing up the apple of logic they swallowed in the garden of eden and lose the fear.
All the knowledge in the world < loneliness.
I think thats all fine in philosophy and theres no way to really know. But I would argue that viewpoint is not thinking about the consequences of immortality on the human psyche. The soul may be eternal, but our psyches are cyclical and need a "reboot" so to speak every now and then.
Whether we like it or not, we are a human animal and tied (on this plane) to concepts like "time". I reckon there may be a few people capable of handling immortality well. Maybe some isolated monks, etc.
Most would begin wishing for death after a certain period. We exist in cycles. As good as we feel in the afternoon one day, eventually sleep will become an overwhelming gravity so that the mind/body can be replenished. Your soul would feel the same gravity eventually imo, even if on a much longer cycle.
You'll have a never ending cycle of friends
