If you could fish any project(s) out of Development Hell...

Here's an awesome version of X-Men that might have been (per Chris Claremont)

http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/chris-claremonts-dream-x-men-movie-james-cameron-kathryn-bigelow-and-bob-hoskins-wolverine-3/

He said that as Cameron launched his own studio, Lightstorm Entertainment, in 1990, he and Marvel Comics mastermind Stan Lee went to his office to pitch him an X-Men movie.

"Just think about this for a minute: James Cameron's X-Men. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow. That's what we were playing," Claremont said. "So we're chatting. And at one point Stan looks at Cameron and says, 'I hear you like Spider-Man.' Cameron's eyes lit up.

"And they start talking. And talking. And talking. About 20 minutes later all the Lightstorm guys and I are looking at each other, and we all know the X-Men deal has just evaporated. Kathryn goes off and writes a screen treatment for X-Men that was eaten alive by all the idiots who have a piece of Spider-Man because Marvel during its evolution has sold off the rights time and time and time again. To Carolco. To Universal. To this to that. To Fox. It was just a nightmare."

Oh what could have been.

With two exceptions, I'm happy with the X-series we've gotten, but yeah, that could've been pretty mind-blowing.

Same here. Love Singer's X-Men. It's just fun to think about what might have been back then.

In terms of fancasting, Michael Biehn could have been an amazing Cyclops. Maybe even Arnie as Colossus! Claremont mentioned he envisioned someone like Bob Hoskins as Wolverine and Angela Bassett as Storm.

I would love to see how Batman Triumphant would've turned out. There's a good chance that it could've been awful just like B&R, but looking at some of Schumacher's other stuff and thinking about what a more refined Batman Forever could have been like, I have a strange feeling that Schumacher might have been the most capable of delivering an Arkham Asylum-type story of all the Bat-directors we've gotten pre-Snyder.

The Vega Brothers.

Also QT's Casino Royale.

Richard Donner's Superman 2 completed, 3 and 4!

Yup. I remember on the Donner Cut DVD commentary, him getting all excited about the water-cooler talks they had about a bunch of potential installments, with Brainiac and Supergirl coming into it etc.

Damn.

Pretty much all of Del Toro's Wikipedia page. Seriously, guy has so many started but not finished projects.

Well, yeah, the man has at least a dozen projects at various stages of development at any given time.

Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash - Yeah the first film wasn't an award winner or anything, but one more chance for Robert Englund to play Freddy and throw out that stupid remake, a return again to the original Jason timeline (get Hodder back), and then continue the Evil Dead series (although with the TV series coming, I am glad we are getting something cool there). The script they wrote and turned into a comic was actually pretty good, and would have been awesome to see on screen.

Tintin 2

Del Toro's Justice League Dark

I would say United Artists' long-gestating Ranger's Apprentice film series, but apparently the producers have the funds and start auditioning actors in Ireland and the UK this summer.

The films these people had in development at different points in their lives:

-Stanley Kubrick
-James Cameron
-Guillermo Del Toro
-Quentin Tarantino
-Mel Gibson as a Director

I mena, the Vegas Brothers and Battle Angel Alita are just two of the various projects these people as a whole planned at some point, a full list would take ammount to some 10+ movies. I still hope some of the interesting films in development are released.

Would also like to add Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, Batman 5, Tim Burton's Superman film and Tintin 2

Paradise Lost
Justice League: Mortal

firefly season 2 and beyond :cries:

I've always wanted, and expected a Freddy vs. Jason 2. The first film isn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was such fun. I wanted a rematch! I was surprised they couldn't get one made considering what a big hit FvJ was. And while we got a continuation of the storyline in the comics(Nightmare warriors),I wanted a movie.

Jerry Lewis made a holocaust movie.

It was about a clown who use to ease all the children into the gas chamber. He filmed the enitre film and never released it. Only seven ppl have seen the film. Also, he was also pretty high while making this.

Patton Oswalt got his hands on the script and use to do live readings with fellow comedians.

I've read a little about that. I can only assume the execution was terrible, because it sounds like it could've made a decent tragedy.
