I have respect for most games, even the ones I don't even like. (Mario, Zelda, etc) If I had to choose one game that I could get rid of for good. It would have to be...Animal Crossing for the DS. Nothing in that game lived up to the Gamecube version.

I can't settle for one game to go away, nor one genre. I want 2 video game genres to go extinct: "versus fighting games" because they're nothing more than clones of each other, and MMORPGS, because they lack a key aspect that Role Playing Games both Pen and Paper and Console have: a ****ing story.

As for what I want to revive? Either System Shock or SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division

i would have to get rid of GTA ( Halo is my other choice ). I never got what was supposed to be so great about these games. I always thought they were extremley overrated an boring. Sandbox is just a genre that should die off anyway. It kills me that most people wont play a game unless you can go and do whatever you want and maybe a few misions. To me it seems to kill the point of buying a video game.

I wish games could just go back to its roots. Awesome fun 2d side scrollers! With the way Mega Man 9 is selling i think that day is finally coming back. The game is great by the way!

Exactly. If Halo was your first FPS, I can understand being nostalgic over it. However if you've played FPS games on PC....Halo's average. Not horrible, but nothing worth bragging over either. However a lot of Halo fans have acted like it's the greatest game ever, and despite Halo topping out with 1 being the best and 2 and 3 being worse, ppl still act like every new Halo is going to turn the gaming world upside down. Plus you have to hear about it on the news all day about how lines form, ppl beat eachother up, kill eachother, whatever to get a copy. You hear talks of movies and big budgets. I just find myself scratching my head most of the time lol, I really just don't get it.

We're not saying Halo is a bad game. We're more against an average game constantly being hyped as the greatest game in existance.

They did bring back Contra. They made an official sequel earlier this year with Contra 4 for the DS.

It's awesome and very difficult.

I'm willing to bet you'v probably never played System Shock 2, Stalker, the pc original call of duty, Shogo, Kingpin, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament Halflife: Opossing Force, Counterstrike, Team Fortress Classic, Crysis, Crysis Warhead and almost all first person shooters these day's are multiplat including halo 1/2 wich scored consideribly lower by pc reviewers, your entitled to your opinion though.

I'm willing to bet I could say the same for RPG's like Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment wich are both much better than Oblivion and Fable. (wich are both on the pc too come to think of it),

I've played Half Life, Counter Strike (my friend was in love with that game), Quake, and the first COD. Reason why I hate COD is because of the PC version. The game just isn't for me. While I have never played those RPGs, I don't like Oblivion. It was too easy compared to Morrowind. I guess I just like Halo more because I've played it so many times with friends and had a blast.

The pc was doing that xbox live stuff with quake/quake2 a decade before it existed. Goldeneye, that game was awsome, that there was the one of the first decent console oriented fps imo.

I disagree, sandbox style gameplay at least gives you your money's worth. Its kinda hard to be bored in GTA with having the ability to unleash holy hell on a city. Linear games force you to do missions and once after beating it you might get a few unlockables and the ability to play the same game over using a different character. GTA isn't overrated by any means, they had they're run of mediocre games, GTA 3 was the game that pretty much changed the way we play games, so instead of just trying to milk it, Rockstar found ways to improve it.
