Taking away religion to eradicate war wouldn't do it, it would only take away the excuse for war. The reasons for war are far more numerous than simply "religion".

Including the Crusades?

Including the Crusades?

Yes, land and power was at the center, God was the excuse.

Did you have those fighting, fighting for their beliefs? Sure....but the people that were giving the orders wanted land, and inturn power.

Why is pedophilia not up there? I vote for that, even if it isn't on there. Any one involved with that **** should be strung up, no doubt.

And yea, religious was just an excuse for the Crusades really. It was all about land and power and all that crap.

I really didn't get a chance to use all 40 spots like I wanted to.

Pedophilia was on my list, and so were things like fast food, etc.

War, which I think in turn could get rid of msny other things on that list since those could cause it.

I actually don't think adding any of the stuff I left out would have changed anything...like "Mortality".

not to defend pedo's, but don't you think their mere existence is torture?

the attraction to young children is likely inherent for these people, just as homosexuality is for others. homosexuality is gaining a wider level of acceptance that pedophilia will never, ever receive. i guess it just sucks for them.

as for the relevant answer to the poll question, i choose religion. i'm surprised people chose things like money and taxes. that makes no sense. disease would probably be my second choice.

Cigs, but pollution was a close second.

A lot of those choices are necessary evils.

Yea I see what you are saying Riddler. I suppose I could have a smidge of sympathy for the ones who don't have a choice about it.

But some of them clearly do, and enjoy it. Those guys are just scum of the earth. I really do not hate anything more than people like that.

looking at this from a purely selfish point of view... some awesome film and tv scenes wouldn't be made if thsoe things never existed.

no religion? no ark opening in raiders
no rape? the bride never wakes up
no violence? no mr blonde dancing

so yeh...take that logical thinking...

Very well thought out.

I'm sorry, the history too? As in, it never existed to begin with? I don't think I could get rid of any of those. Necessity is the mother of invention, and war & conflict create a lot of necessities. We wouldn't even have radios if it weren't for World War I.

Do I choose rape? What if a great person in history was really the product of their mother getting raped?

Do I choose murder? What about all of the monsters of history who were murdered?

I give up. I abstain from voting.

I was pretty much going to say this word for word.

There wouldn't be any real negative repercussions if you were to eliminate pollution. :o

Depends on how you eliminate it.

What would Al gore do?!

Well.. never mind not having to see or hear Al Gore talk about global warming is not a bad thing

Taking away racism in the US would have slowed down some of the others on the list: Violence, Rape, Poverty, Discrimination, War, Stress, Murder, and Diseases (such as hypertension).

Violence.
it includes:

-murder
-rape
- racism (for the most part)
- and war

Thats a 4 in 1. :o

We're like any species yo, that s**t is necessary. Survival of the fittest in the hizzzouse.

I could do without pedophiles though. Blow those *****es up.

This is really hypocritical of me seeing as though I'm using the internet to answer this question, but I'd get rid of the existence of the internet. I had a long thought out answer as to why but I didn't feel like typing it for some reason

Out of all those, only "poverty" strikes me as something you could eliminate as well as the history of and still have a functioning world. If you could eliminate poverty in total, what horrible after effect would that cause?

Poverty could never be eliminated in a free market system. There will always be people that make bad decisions with their money.

Racism is one of the things on the list that I could see being eliminated with enough enlightenment, so I chose that.
