so today @ work i saw a $10 bill laying around at first i looked around to see if some student was looking around for it. i didnt find anyone that was doing that so i kept my eye on it to see if any happens. so far atleast 5 students walked right passed the $10 bill. i was completely shocked to see that. its been at least 3 minutes and so i went near it and took it.

what about you guys do you have the lost $$$ on the ground rule? or do you have no moral and take every $$$ you see on the ground.

At work I'd ask if anyone dropped it but out in public I'd probably just pick it up.

unless you see the guy or girl drop the money, there's really no way of telling who it belongs to. So I would go ahead and grab it. $10 is a lot for a college student!

damn my lack of proofreading, can a mod correct the spelling please

thats my rule, if i dont see the person that dropped it and no one is looking for it, its mine :oldrazz:

Unless the owner is clear, it's mine.

When I worked at Walmart out in the parking lot...I'd would turn paper money in. And since I don't work at Walmart anymore more...

:woot: I got a $20 tip one time. Help putting furniture or a tv in a woman's SUV or some fancy ride.

:csad: but at times I had to turn down tips because I was with co-workers who know we can't tips.

Picking up money found on the ground doesn't mean you have no morals, it just means you have different morals.

That said, yeah, I'd pick it up. I'd check to see if someone was looking for it, first. If he or she was, I'd give it to him or her. If not, it's mine.

I was on a business trip in Illinois and went jogging outside my hotel on this long stretch of empty road. I happened to spot a wad of money on the ground and picked it up thinking it was a few dollar bills...

I found $225 dollars.

I looked around to see if there were any houses nearby... none for at least a mile in each direction. I kept it and donated part of the proceedings to my liver desecration fund.

If you see them drop it, it would be wrong for you to take it in my opinion. But if you just found it lying there without an idea of who it belonged to, it's yours!

One time at my old job, I looked on the ground and saw someone had dropped a diamond earring. I knew I should've turned it in, but I stuffed it in my pocket and kept it.

Turned out to be a cubic zirconia. :cmad:

It was bigger than my then-current cubic zirconia earring, so "when life gives you lemons," ect.

You should've posted lost and found posters around the neighborhood. The rightful owners would come foward.

All 6,000 of them.

I always figure the chances of that money returning to it's rightful owner is very slim, unless you saw the owner drop it of course. Maybe it's just me trying to excuse my horrible actions, but I never recovered any money that I dropped somewhere. I don't even expect to.

If I saw the owner drop it i would wait for them to leave and take it.

I found ten bucks in the cash return slot at the self check out isle. I felt like I hit the lottery.

Okay, well let's put a spin on this thread. Let's say you're in a public place, like a movie theatre and someone leaves a really nice (clearly high quality) pen on the chair next to you. Or maybe a beautiful wrist watch. There's no inscription on it. And no one is around. What would you do?

Whoever doesn't say 'stop the person and give them their **** back' is a *****ebag.

Let's make it real interesting and make it a money clip with 300 dollars.

or for the nerds a Jack Kirby X-men.

No, I don't want to talk about money because EVERYONE has money in their pockets and it's not easy to prove a true loss.

But a wrist-watch, pen, jewelry...see those things are tangible losses in my opinion--and may even have sentimental value attached to them.

Without showing the watch to anyone, I'd ask around to see if anyone lost a watch. If no one can describe it from memory, I'll ask the movie theatre if they have a Lost & Found. If they don't, that bad boy is getting pawned.

I'm keeping the pen, though.

When I was a kid, I lost $80 at a movie theater. Now, any money I find is just Jesus sending it back to me.
