this is just random but i have been wondering about how many people actually liked the fact that clark's dad died in STM, if you were directing your own movie, would you have his dad die at all in your movie, also would you include the Fortress of Solitude in your movie because lois and clark didnt have it and it did well also the the Animated Series also didnt have it till later on in the series but the first 3 episodes didnt have it and to me it did amazing, and made perfect sense so just wondering yall so if it gets closed and all watever, answer away.

I'd have his dad die, yeah. It was an interesting change. I would have the fortress, but he wouldn't have it until later in his life, after he becamem Superman. I'd have the Fortress like the Donner one but a little different. It's have a lot more stuff than just crystals. I wouldn't have Krypton be all ice and crystals though. I just love the design of that fortress.

I'd redo the origin and keep Jonathan alive. I'd really like to see a scene exactly like the tornado from A Superman for All Seasons...as it perfectly sums up Big Blue's motivations. I'd have Metallo as Luthor's henchman...but eventually he would likely turn on Luthor. I'd have corporate Lex...and go with Post Crisis Superman and elements.

I would like to see your movie...provided Angie Harmon plays Lois.:o

I would have brought him back without addressing the Donner movies. I would bring Superman on screen without worrying about the Donner movies. People know Superman, they know his origins, they can watch Smallville or STM and Superman 2.

I would have used Metallo as a villian alongside Lex as Matt has said and probably set up Braniac in a sequel. I would have focused on Star Labs and Intergang connected to Luthor.

The benefit of a Corparete Lex is the resources he has. He has an empire and he has political connections. Because of that, you can always include him in future movies, either pulling the strings or whatever.

I've read the Superman Returns novel, and I'm still reserving my take on Spacey. I'm sure he'll be wonderful. But I have NO CLUE where Lex is heading off to in the sequel. No idea. I pray to God that he doesn't 'swindle' another old lady for money.

You can only do so much with a con man. But with corperate giant, there's more options to take.

yeah yall pretty much had the same idea i did about the fortress coming later in his life, dad not dieing, business lex, metallo first villian, but i would do it like this, before superman lex is the man around, superman shows up, out with lex, lex gets mad, and gets offered a deal to fund a project which is to make the perfect human with (john corban) the subject, lex thinks ha this is the perfect way to be better than superman, lex agrees, boom metallo, john does'nt like he turns on lex and everyone reeks havok, they fight, supes wins, there you go. my sequal, doomsday, again lex trying top make a being better than superman, lex trys to clone, abominaton forms, out of control they fight supes dies, lex on top, and last but not least, movie nuber 3, supes comes back, lex basicly booboos on himself, so again he trys to make another being better than superman, lex trys to clone again, gets it right, 2 supermen, clone deforms, BIZZARO!!, they fight, superman wins, lex in prison, end of trilogy.:supes:

I can't wait to debut my version of Superman in the community board after SR is released. It's in novel form, and its going to blow your f-ing minds away. It's going to be my big, giant SCREW YOU.

Call me crazy (and I'm sure you will), but among other things, I'd have my Superman start out being Supes before he could even fly. He'd start out as the Golden Age/Fleischer, de-powered, leaping tall buildings Supes and discover that he could fly at a critical point in time (to save Lois, probably).

Actually, I'd cast Mia Kirshnir.

The reason I like corporate Lex is, he is entirely untouchable. Superman has all these powers, all these abilities...and yet he cannot do a thing to Lex. He can't just fly him to jail. Conman Lex does not have that luxury.

I would have cast......for my version anyway:

Jor-El: Jim Caviezel
Lara: Catherine Zeta-Jones
Lois Lane: Rachel McAdams
Lex Luthor: Jaquin Phoenix
Perry White: Harvey Keitel
Jimmy Olsen: Adam Brody
Johnathan Kent: Dennis Quaid
Martha Kent: Rachel Griffiths

Superman- As for the Man Of Steel, I would really have to go out and test actors. I would give Routh a screentest, as I would Cavill. But I can't say for certain.

are you goin to base your novel on those people cause um..........

Jaquin Phoenix, Caviezel and Zeta-Jones, Rachel McAdams, and Dennis Quaid.....YES I am. The rest are interchangable, first thing that popped to my mind. But the five, yes, and if you dare question those five choices than all I have to say is different strokes for different folks.

Actually, my Jimmy choice would probably be Colin Hanks, and no he wouldn't play it like Marc " jee whiz Mr. Kent " Mcclure.

i respect you opinon siiiiiiiiiiiir, but Elena for Lara can't remotely see it.

(spanish accent) "goodbye kal-el, we will love chu foreverrrrrr(rolls tongue)

ahahaha, no offense though man we'll see wat you got.

Catherine has always stated she wanted to be in a Superman film, although as Lois Lane. What better consolation prize than to be the birth mother to Kal-El.

And yes, I loved her as Elena as well, as I did The Mask of Zorro as a whole. But I don't consider that role so unforgettable that she couldn't be Lara.

I've never thought of him, but that's a great choice. I liked the way he played the personal assistant of Carl Denham in King Kong. I definitely like your approach with modernizing Jimmy and not keeping him like Marc McClure.

I also like Matt's interpretation of Superman in terms of story. His approach is similar to what I would do. Very similar. I'm looking forward to reading Venom420's version of Superman as well.

I personally don’t really like that cast. There’s too much Hollywood there. It would bring the story down. Not to say I’m right and you’re wrong, it’s just my opinion that too many big stars clutter a movie and take the realism out. This is Superman, not Crash.

Phoenix is the only one I actually like.

I look forward to reading it though.

Not in the least.

Give the film the look of the Fleischer cartoons ala "Sky Captain", put the story including the regular cast of characters in a fantastic Jurassic environment, add the crew of a German U-boat led by a ruthless sadistic Captain to the mix, and my geek cup floweth over.

I see what you mean, and I agree with you that "Hollywood" actors take away from a film, but I don't really consider any of these choices to be truly Hollywood, with the exception of the Zeta-Jones and soon McAdams. Phoenix, Caviezel, and Quaid are well known for there acting ability, not there star power. There just damn good at what they do, and thats why I choose them. Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, and Glenn Ford all had more star power at there peaks.

I have to say this though, I LOVE damn good actors!

I would make a new beginning, like it was with BB.

Besides, I also would keep the kid for sequels. But like Singer, I dont want supervillian in new Superman movie, better keep them for sequels also.

In my movie Supes would try to stop big kryptonite meteorite and other meteors.

And there would be some hints for Brainiac.

The biggest change is that I probably would've included a supervillain. Even keeping the current storyline, I think Brainiac could've fit in well- especially given Superman's space voyage. Or they could've taken a cue from the animated series and tied him into New Krypton.

The reason for this is because most people don't seem to be too familiar with Superman's rogues gallery. Everyone knows Joker or Penguin, but all the strange alien stuff in Superman's world has largely been omitted from his mainstream incarnations (50's tv show; Lois and Clark; Superman films). Zod being the exception, of course.

And besides, it's simply time we saw a film villain other than Lex.
