Hey ,I just came back from catching the midnight showing of the movie,and it was great. People laughed and clapped. Towards the end when Leonidas died, one guy got up and left the movie. As he left he exclaimed "that's fuc*ed up". He left becuase he was angry that Leonidas had been killed. He wasn't displeased at the movie, just that I guess he kinda made a connection. He kinda felt it really was his king that had died. I am serious Iam not making this up. As for the ladies, this girl sat behind me . All she kept saying when Leonidas spoke was "damn, damn damn". I think this is a pretty good movie.All I have to say is for those who doesn't know much about the 300.You will get just as angry as the guy in my movie theater. By the way the theater I went too, they were showing 300 in two theater. Both were full and I had to get one of those upfront seats. Word of advice, if you are going to see this film make sure you get there early.So tomorrow make sure you buy your tickets early. I know the Imax theaters in NY,NY are sold out this whole weeked for this movie.Don't take my word for it, you can always check for yourself.Goodnight and good day.

wow i just came back from watching it...some of the best battle scenes that i have ever watched for a film....good acting, amazing movie quotes that will be quoted for years to come....its instantly moved to my top 10 all time favorite movies....going to IMAX on monday to watch it again.....I had an orgasm watching this movie...lol

i read over 3 different reviews all *****ing about the "MALE NUDITY" or "DUDITY" and there was ONE ASS!!!! ONE! not even a penis! There was more dudity in EUROTRIP! One reviewer went as far as to call it "gay porn or just a recruitment video!"

Man our culture sucks!!

Awesome, I'm glad people are liking it!! My biggest fear is that there would negative reactions aplenty and it would start to lose buzz... but nope!!

I saw it for the 4th time tonight with an actual midnight crowd. They didn't cheer as much as they should have, but EVERYONE I talked to afterwards loved it, a lot. Everything's going good so far!

This board should have had a spoiler section, but it has been really slow here. But regardless, this is pretty well known information. If you can find a spoiler in a history book or google search, was it that big of a secret to begin with? I personally knew they all died years ago from a GN review.

Perhaps they were uncomfortable by the homoeroticism that was bouncing off the radar in the film.

I got just what I was expecting: two ours of absolute homoerotic, misogynistic, alpha-male absurdity. It's a pretty pornographic movie, whether it's beautiful women forced into sex with ugly men (to the point where Miller changes the Pythia from a priestess to a group a lecherous old leper men) or just men killing each other with spears, there is hardly a scene in the movie where somebody isn't penetrating somebody else. There are a few moments of decent drama, but the movie had us all laughing quite a bit more than feeling any powerful emotions. Which is fine, because for the most part the movie doesn't take itself all that seriously. Just revel in the massive orgy of flesh and blood and chest pounding and you might just enjoy yourself.

stating that the king dies is no spoiler. this is infact true to history and all the spartans died in that war. I didn't know that until recenetly but my GF said they tought her about that war in her history class a few years ago in highschool. sure it is not as common place as more current wars, but it's still something you'll read about everytime you read about this war. hardly spoiler material. anyways, i haven't seen the movie yet, i will tonight.

are you a homophobe or just overly religious? Cause that is one of the dumbest, shallowest statements you could make. Because the movie shows one ass and a sex scene that had less to offer than an episode of rome you call it "ABSOLUTE HOMOEROTIC" and "PORNOGRAPHIC"? Would you rather it been like the book and had penises in every frame?

I really dont understand that. Everyone in the theater I went to left going "HELL YEAH" and they cheered all through the movie! There was some giggling from these frat boys next to me in the flip flops and abercrombie gear at the King's butt shot. But that is just a testament to their own insecurities and issues with their sexuality.

It is one of the biggest dissappointments to be at a theater of 17 and up and hear giggles when there is a sex scene or nude body... are we still in the 5th grade????

I had already seen the movie so it didn't really affect me. I suppose you're right, when you consider the historical context of the movie. Haha, I expected him to die too, but you know, when you watch a movie, sometimes you hope the outcome will be different, even though you KNOW it can't be. Anyway no harm done

As for the guy who walked out, do you think it had to do with his death,

Yes he walked out becuase of that. I forgot to mention a minute later he came back to see the rest of what was left. well he must have been a pretty emotional guy. I guess he didn't want him to die, maybe because he was rooting for him. Now that's a good movie, when the audience wants the main character to prevail over all those odds.

"Homophobic" is an incredibly stupid term based around 3rd grade logic that if you don't agree then you're afraid.

Just because people don't like male nudity doesn't mean they are homophobic...it means THEY DON'T LIKE IT. That's it.


Oh and I loved the movie. Just tired of the stupid "homophobic" term.

I just came back from reading some of the yahoo user reviews.It seems like all the bad reviews the movie is getting is from Historian or people who feels like the movie insulted their heritage.

This is movie is ungodly amazing. All hail King Leonidas!

I don't know if words can truly describe how visually stimulating this film is on-screen. It shows the pride and glory of the Spartans in a way I have never seen.

I went to the 12:25 matinee and the theatre was pretty close to being filled. If this is any indicator of the pace for the weekend, this film is going to be huge.

One of the things that makes the movie so awesome is the soundtrack and its complement to the visuals and the editing. This was very well done.

I don't know if there really is a downside to the movie other than I wish it had been longer.

I was surprised at how many colored people there were on the Persian side. I would not have figured them to have those features, but would have looked more Persianesque.

The guy who is narrating the story does an incredible job and really conveys the emotion and honor of the film. It's the guy who played Faramir in the LOTR films.

Just got back from seeing it. 2 thumbs way up! The battle scenes had me literally on the edge of my seat, especially Leonidas vs that Giant muther ****er!

Too lazy to type a full review right now, but Gerald Butler is the man of this movie.

btw, loved the new Spiderman 3 trailer!

i enjoyed it very much. i really liked the Spartan King his love for his wife and country. i will buy if when it comes to HD-DVD. A much see for anyone who likes movies like this.
