Yea but does it get good quality on dvd's and my 360?

One other thing - there are 54 reviews of that TV on Newegg. It's getting a 5 out of 5 rating.

And they usually have shipping deals where you get free shipping. I would recommend NOT going with their standard shipper. Ask for UPS, which costs the same amount, or hell ask if they can ship it for free. Tell them you meant to order it when they had the free shipping deal and see if they let ya.

As much as I would like to believe that it is an amazing product, I would only rely on legitimate reviews from electronics sites because there is no guarantee that the reviews are written by people who actually own a product which can affect the good (or bad) rating.

Although newegg is usually fairly accurate, so it is one of the more trustworthy sites.

LCD and plasma are both useless in my opinion. I don't want to buy a 2-3000 dollar TV only to have to replace $500 bulbs on a regular basis. Not to mention both formats have their problems such as burn in and other things. I think DLP is the way to go as well. Sure, some people get color separation from DLP but it's so rare it's almost not worth mentioning.

Last I priced a replacement lamp for my Samsung purely out of curiosity, they were going for $250-ish. I haven't had any issues with the lamp in mine over the course of the two years I've had it, nor have I had any issues with color seperation.

You must have missed the part where I said I own one. I don't recommend something unless I own it myself and am happy with it.

NO, YOU JUST DON'T HANG OUT IN THE 'GAMES' FORUM, SO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHERE I'M COMING FROM. BEING ACCUSED OF FALLING FOR "THE HYPE" OF A 'SONY' PRODUCT, IS TANTAMOUNT TO BEING CALLED A DAMNED FOOL. I STOOD IN LINE FOR MY 'PS2' FOR 13 HOURS, BACK IN 2000...........AND I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER 'SONY' PRODUCT AT LAUNCH EVER AGAIN. :o

hookers? i'm insulted you'd suggest I pay for sex...

They might be drunk by the end of the night... but I certainly don't pay. :doom:

You know for a thousand bucks I'd get a Hitachi 51" CRT Projection television. The old technology still is the best until DLP and LCD mature. You get better black levels and with a small amount of tweaking you get a cleaner and overall better pic than any of the new technology, plus a bigger screen. But that's just my opinion.

But if you must get one of the newer technologies, I'd have to say go for DLP as that is the best of the big 3. Lamp life is an issue but it's a bulb so it can either last for a long time or it can blow...just like a regular bulb. That's why I suggest the CRT as you can use it for a few years and then when the L.E.D. capable televisions go down in price you can grab one of those as the life on a single L.E.D. lamp should be around 20,000 hours.

DLP was invented in 1987. How much longer before it's mature enough for you?

I meant the commercial use of DLP technology in stand alone televisions. Such as projection units, etc. It has recently, like in the past few years, gotten to a level where it is widely sold for this application.

Geez, why does everyone on the hype have to be a smart ass?
