The Dark Knight Imax still selling out after one week

Yes...Still sold out after one week, up here in Toronto.
In Mississauga, I had to buy my tickets for tomorrow night in advance but it hasn't sold out yet. I figured the evening showing for Tuesday was sold out on Sunday, so the evening showing for Wednesday would sell out some point yesterday, guess not.

Still extremely impressive, I've never had to buy tickets online for a movie two weeks after it came out.

Damn right its still going to sell out, its the biggest film of the year! :)

Sheesh, still sold out every day in Manchester England Imax.

I'm buying advance tix for Thurs today.

I suppose in hindsight, my local Imax may be regretting getting Kung Fu Panda as opposed to The Dark Knight...

to those who've seen it in Imax and regular cinemas, how do they compare? and is it visibly different in the Imax segments or just larger?

I prefer the IMAX (especially for the opening scene), but the regular screen is fine.

I've seen the regular screen twice. but a group of us have been trying to get to the Imax and it's a ***** to schedule. I'm wondering whether some people should just see it in the cinema. or should I tell them to hold out

The IMAX experience is much much better than the regular film viewing of the film, the sound and of course picture is a nice step up from the conventional theater.

the main reason to see IMAX is that it is a much more immersive experience. Visual it's pristine. Perfect. And the sound is not bad too I guess :P

The sound quality is much much better than a normal theater.

You do have to sit near the back, though. Subpar seating for an IMAX film is not as visually forgiving.

The last time I saw this film was in IMAX, and I don't think I was sitting far enough away, since the picture looked distorted from where I was. But it likely depends on the size of your screen.

^hehe, yeah I was sitting right back, and fairly centered, when i saw it - perfect

I saw it again last night in IMAX, and it was still sold out.
This movie is making a ton of cash.

The IMAX showing I'm going to tomorrow evening is sold out (as predicted), looks like I'm lining up even though the movie's been in theatres for two weeks! :D

does the imax assign you seats or is it free for all?
It depends. Most are first-come, first-serve, but for some, you can choose your own seats. It'll say if you book online. If you can't choose your seats when you buy them online, then it's no seat assignments.

After seeing a movie in IMAX it's okay but I don't recommend it if you have ear problems because it is really really loud, but it's okay for a first time experience and the ticket is $12.50 but I paid $5.00 because I had the movie ticket from the Blu-Ray.

You'll notice what scenes are shot in IMAX because the screen ratio switches from 70mm to 2.35.
