It is well-known and accepted by the vast majority of experts and academics, that racism and bigotry does not just involve overt and intentional prejudice by individuals, but also systemic and systematic prejudice, as well as unconscious bias. While there is nothing wrong with having a mental image of comics characters consistent with their traditional depictions, it is also well known and accepted that as Jeffrey Wright pointed out with respect to his casting as James Gordon, that the primary casts of characters of classic heroes like Superman and Batman are almost exclusively traditionally depicted as white due to both overt and implicit racism and bigotry at the times of their creation. Several moderators and administrators have attempted to make recent discussions here a teachable moment and explain these concepts with respect to the problematic nature of Superman: Legacy's racially limited casting.

Continuing to argue that such casting practices are not problematic or attempting to justify them actively perpetuate the racism and other bigotry inherent in these characters' creations and doing so can only now constitute willful blindness to these issues. As such, the moderation team will now consider any such posting or arguments implicitly racist and bigoted and will deal with them in accordance with the Forums Rules and usual moderation practices for more overtly racist and bigoted posts, such as infractions and bans. Kindly please govern yourselves accordingly.
