Incredible Hulk DVD

Honestly, I don't think that many people in the general population know (or care) about that.

I chalk the success of the DVD to simply positive word of mouth.

Well, I didn't say many people in the general population. Most people in the general population didn't buy the movie. I'm talking about those that did, which means those that are interested. And out of those that did, I think, as I said, "some" bought it out of a deal of interest to see the deleted scenes.

Besides, the conflict between Norton and the studio was highly publicized, so I do think there was a lot of curiosity surrounding it.

Just got the 3 disc special edition yesterday, and I'm done watching the deleted scenes.

Honestly? I can see why Norton was miffed. The film I saw in theaters was pretty good, but it was a popcorn flick at best. What it could have been was something pretty deep. Not all of the deleted scenes are gold, but someone definitely needs to do a fan edit later on down the road and show how good an extended cut could be.

Couldnt agree more, what we got in cinema's was a good movie, nothing more, but we could have had a great movie with some deepness and emotion, and we could be here discussing a much better movie.

To each his own I guess. Personally for me, TIH might have been light on complexity but it had plenty of emotion. There was a definate chemistry between Norton and Tyler and quite frankly, it was better than Bana and Connelly. Their performance along with the brooding score really drove home just how tragic Bruce's life had become since the birth of the Hulk. Granted, Ang's Hulk was an origin film and only gave me somewhat of an idea of the hell that was Bruce's life but TIH more than accomplished this with it's dominant dark tone.

Could the film had been better? Of course, I haven't seen a film yet that was perfect but at least to me, TIH was a lot better than an average film....emphasis on a lot. There were some things left on the cutting room floor that definately should have been in the final cut but overall TIH is a good, solid film IMO.

Agreed. Also, I don't feel like most of that stuff was terribly long, I mean a few of the deeper scenes with Samson & The general were a few extra minutes, but the majority of the stuff was just extensions of scenes that made it. It wouldn't have made the time between Hulk-outs that unbearable, and most of them added a lot of insight into the motivations of the characters.

Still, the performances and dialogue in the deleted scenes were far more on-topic than some of the scenes that made it into the final film. Some people are acting as if the film would've suffered from the issues in Ang Lee's film, but those issues with the drama sprung from the fact that Lee's drama was very, very boring and repetitive. I never got that feel from the cut material here. It would've definitely helped the first act have some build-up, instead of feeling like it was being thrown into Mach 3 before we can get comfortable.

Agreed. It seems as though Marvel went too far toward the other extreme (not to say that they went completely opposite of Ang's) by cutting alot of informative dialogue.

I bought the special edition, and the alternate opening was WACK, imho. I think a Hulk movie is off the table for about 3-4 years, but if the other projects go off without a hitch, and htey all imitate IM's performance at the B.O., Marvel will totally be in the driver's seat.

I was in Best Buy this afternoon looking for any bargains on good movies they might've had when I saw a man and his two young sons debating on what to buy and look at tonight.

The two boys were BEGGING their dad to buy TIH but he kept telling them that Hulk was an uninteresting character and would be a waste of his money -his money, okay, I'll give him that since he's the working one.

But he lost me when he was trying to convince his kids that the Speed Racer dvd that he wanted to get was better for them to watch and was better than TIH . I heard one of his sons say "Speed Racer sucks, dad! It bombed at the movies and anyway it's gay! Please get Hulk!"

This went back and forth until the father had had enough of their ravings and he bought Speed Racer anyway.

What I found kind of funny was that the younger of the two boys folded him arms together and said: "No wonder mom left you!" I know that more than I heard that.

If you want to keep your kids happy on the weekend that you keep them,fellas...indulge them in the awesomeness of The Incredible Hulk or end up on the Jerry Springer Show one day!

Watching the behind the scenes stuff, you can definitely tell Norton was so much more involved in everything beyond just the acting. Even in certain parts where he and Louis are on screen, he comes off more of as a director than Louis does.

A friend of mine just sent me the brazilian, 2-disc DVD. Same as the american one, only with an extra portuguese track (they even re-dubbed the portuguese-speaking roles!) and DTS sound. And missing the digital copy.

Did you know that the shirt that Liv wears in the strangers (the red checkered one) is the same as the one she wears in the scene from TIH when Betty and Bruce are in the motel room? I noticed that first hand when I saw the Strangers in theaters back in July. I was like...hey...thats the same shirt she wore in TIH for that one scene when Betty cuts Bruce's hair.

Just thought I'd mention it if I hadn't done so.
