I haven't read too much Marvel, but I did read the Infinity Gauntlet a year or so ago and loved it. I would like to know the order of stuff to read though that preceded and led to the Infinity Gauntlet and also what took place thereafter. Preferably collections.

Thanks for any help.

In order ^

The tie ins are mentioned, minis are all collected

there was also something with the IG in the illuminati mini which was garbage

It's probably just worth getting Thanos Quest and Infinity Gauntlet. They were the best parts of the story.

Jim Starlin did some amazing work on Silver Surfer and that led up to a lot of Infinity Stuff.

Yeah, it was actually the Silver Surfer lead-up that got me to WANT to read Infinity Gauntlet years after it came out. I'm not sure if this order is exactly right, as I'm going off of memory, but it's close:

Silver Surfer 34-38
Thanos Quest 1-2
Spider-Man 17
Silver Surfer 44-50
Infinity Gauntlet 1-6 (there's tie-ins in Silver Surfer and Doctor Strange, maybe more, but I've never read them)

Aftermath

Dr. Strange 36
Warlock & the Infinity Watch 1-2

From there just follow Warlock & the Infinity Watch. Read Infinity War and Infinity Crusade when you come to the Infinity Watch issues that crossover into them (and a new mini called Warock Chronicles that goes along with Infinity Crusade) and any other tie-ins to those two events as you'd like to try.

There was also an Infinity Abyss mini that came years after all this but I've never read it. I don't think it fits in smoothly with what some call the Infinity Trilogy (Gauntlet, War, Crusade).
