This is purely fictional and will require some imagination and suspension of disbelief if you know anything about space and astronomy.

Suppose we(humans) found a way to occupy other planets or maybe just one other planet. Is there anything you'd definitely like to see changed about this new world or worlds that exist here on Earth? It can be something you'd add to the new planet(s) or left out: weapons, religion, Paris Hilton, etc.

Immediately institute the US Constitution.

Personally, I'd like to make our new home as racially tolerant as possible. Maybe make it so that no 2 people of the same race can live w/i 3 houses of each other or something, haha. Don't like white people or Asians? Too bad, cuz they're your neighbors :o

Many of those things you suggest to change are a result of human nature and that is something a planet would not change. If thetre was a new planet I would just suggest that resources would no longer be limited and not located in just a few areas. Look at Star Trek (TNG) to see what I am talking about.

A good question would be; if we did inhabit a new planet, and they had cheap homes and good jobs, would you move there? Like, seriously? :o

You think we could somehow screen the people who get to move to the new planet(s) in an attempt to leave our worst behind us. It sounds futile but I'd at least want to try.

I DEFINITELY want to make one planet's sole function to be a prison. Instead of jail ,we simply shoot criminals to Jupiter or something. Kind of like what Australia was, but on a larger scale. We'd have to make sure they landed safely of course(I'm not some animal who wants then to crash into the surface :o)

Hell yeah. If they found a way to make the atmosphere conducive for human life, sign me the F up. They're gonna need scientists, right?

Yeah, but could you leave your family behind a world away? It's not like moving down the street, or moving to a new state. Plus I'd imagine travel back to Earth would be very limited and take hella time.

You would have to develop Farm land, and eventually manufacturing. Those would have to be priority. You need to make the Food and Shelter, and Water Purification system. While making Waste Removal Systems.

Then, you would have to develop a system of Government.

Economics would probably be on a barter system for the first while, because you would need everyone to work the fields for food, or something else to sustain the Colony.

Of course. :cwink:

Sweeeeet.:oldrazz:

But in all seriousness I think setting up colonies on other planets is a natural progression for the human race. Maybe in 10 years, maybe in a 100 years, but I think it should and will happen.

Um yeah, I'd miss 'em but I can't pass this up. I know a bunch of my friends would be up for the move too

Mars will be first I'd imagine, or maybe the moon.

Very true, but we'd really have to do some work to keep the new economy different from any on Earth(especially America's :o) I'm talking new currency, etc.

Also, I'd like to see the form of government changed. No more 2 party BS, I'd like something more like British Parliament with a HEAP of groups.

I would suggest the FairTax as a form of Taxation. :)

And Libertarianism, as the Political Ideology.

What if another life form doesn't want you there and are not friendly like the native americans were?

It would definitely be a life-decision. But yeah, I'd imagine passing it up wouldn't be an option, considering the whole adventure/making history aspect. :word:

Of course, there would also be no way to stop religion, war, crime, etc. from reaching the new planet. Human nature and all that. :o There's no way all the nations would get together as one, they'd end up wanting their own slice of the pie, which of course would lead to problems. And you know damn well Paris would get there somehow. Hilton I mean. :indy:
