Hey guys,

i didn't really know where to put this since it's just "superhero" related in general, not just marvel or dc..

the following is gonna be a long, weird "food of thought" kinda thing on an issue i've been thinking about recently, kinda like a "what if" situation so here goes...

i've been a comics fan all my life and i don't think i could ever really leave this great hobby behind me (i tried), i been in and out of comic books for many years, sometimes not picking up a comic in a few years but keep checking the boards just to see what's going on currently, then i let myself go and bought some comics again and so the ball kept rolling and stopping and rolling and stopping...

Then the movie era started and offcourse i couldn't let those slip by so i went to see each and every one of them, and i shamefully admit i loved every one of them too even the "bad" ones that get burned to death by most fans such as daredevil and ghostrider...( i do agree them not being great but enjoyable nonetheless imo)

The fact is, i have other priorities and hobbys in life that take up enough time and money as it is, and after not being very active in comic book reading, i just don't have a clue where to start if i ever decided too anyway...wanna read xmen again? sure, but where do hell do i get in without being utterly lost these days...

So now i've been thinking, what if i specialize on the movies and animated series/projects solely, and not get into the monthlys again, only making an exception on getting some very important stories either in tpb or hc version, but then again i would only limit myself to extremely important stuff that really shaped the character or added major value to their legacy, stuff like dark knight returns, the frank miller run on daredevil, batman long halloween, year one....you get the point.

Basiclly limiting down the extend to which i get into comics yet still keep one foot in the water so to speak...i kinda like that idea because the movies exsist in their own world,so you don't need to know 50 years of a frachises history to be able to understand it, and in the recent animated features they tackle some big comic events or at least touch on them so basiclly your not really missing out on THAT much, you'd still get to hear and see the important stuff in some form or another and adding the imporant stories to your collection in paperbacks would nicely fill in the gaps.

So,with all the films, animated films, animated series.....you'd still have plenty of comic booky stuff to delve into without needing to go further.

( offcourse i know your still gonna miss a lot of thiny but good stuff but theirs always the internet to have a peek)

Anyone ever thought of taking the comic book hobby this route or do i belong in arkham asylum just for even thinking about thinking about this...:awesome:
