Iron Man Iron Man vs Iron Monger

As someone who was holding his bladder shut the entire time, I can attest that the last big fight was far longer.

How so ? Please explain in full detail what you mean .

They fought in the streets and on top of a roof. Yea...we haven't seen that a dozen times before.

The critical response to the fight in this thread just goes to show how there's no pleasing some people...

No one is hating the entire movie.

This is why I try not to drink too much. :o

I didn't realize I emptied my drink until about 30 minutes away from the credits, nor how big my drink was to begin with. Eating Sour Patch Kids didn't help, either. My mouth was all burnt an hour later. :csad:

i miss the sour patch kids during movies

catmans got a good point
the fight really had nothing to it

they did go into the air tho

I liked it, it was too fast though.
the icing problem was funny but. could have had action in the streets.
iron man being ran over was funny lol

Yes it was longer than the village sequence. Actually the fight was longer than I expected, considering some very early reviews.

Just got back from my 2nd viewing. This time I tried to absorb everything that was happening in the final showdown. And even though I haven't stopped the time, I can say that the final battle had a pretty good length.

They smashed each other through the city streets, took it into the air, fought on a rooftop and finally, Stark's willingness to sacrifice himself by ordering Pepper to hit the button for the arc reactor.

Yeah, I thought the final battle was fantastic. Really dramatic and entertaining. Man, I love this movie. It exceeded my expectations

I've heard a lot of negativity towards this fight, but it honestly wasn't that bad. It easily trumps the Transformers fight. That was a mess.

Honestly. I was really looking forward to the final showdown between Megs and Optimus. And they completely half assed it. The moment he said "One shall stand, one shall fall." I expected to see a smackdown of galactic proportions. Not just a throw here and a punch there.

I thought it ****ing rocked, are you kidding me that was pure comic gold. I think that it was better than any of the robot battling in transformers.
Agreed.
When I first saw Iron Monger stand up in front of Pepper, after coming up out of the ground; I thought "Oh yeah! This is why Marvel kicks Transformers' @$$.

i loved the part were he fell in the reactor, freakin sweet i loved it its like you kinda expected that to happen in a way, iron man got beat badly tho

It wasn't the worst fight scene but it wasn't the best? Also I can see why they had to go with this? I mean what are they gonna have them fight other whise? With the comics you've got repulosr rays which I mean is cool in the movies too! But it's hard to have a WHOLE firght like that!

Well he had to use the old arc reactor to power the suit, of course he's going to be beat up.:cwink:
And yet he still beat Iron Monger. Did anyone else notice how everything barely happened all the time in the movie? I mean he barely made it out of the terrorist camp; he barely saved the guy in the village; he barely saved Pepper from Obadiah; and he barely had enough power to fight Stane. Among others.

Well, to Robocop 2's credit they didn't have FX like CGI to help RC2 move with more fluidity. I don't hold that against the movie at all. Each climactic battle was good in their own right.

Can anyone clearly define why they hated such an awesome battle? Would they have rather preferred the shaky cam, vomit inducing, confusion Bay is fond of?
I liked the fact u saw everything and did'nt have that shaky-cam which seems to be the rave nowadays.
I just thought it could of been a tad longer, and more involved fight..Maybe more objects;ie. cars, lightpoles, etc. could of been used to make it more personal/action packed...Other than that it was okay, but I'm not gonna declare it the best fight sequence ever....

i loved the ending after the credits freakin epic

****ing awesome fight!

''This looks important... BOOOOOOM!''

apart from the village...which was really great

this action was pretty meh in my book

and if one must comepare(cause everyone seems to prone to)
it really falls short for bays work in transformers

expecially in scale, and kinetics

Heck, what do you expect? Transformers had 2 factions of robots tall as a house going at each others throats. In Iron Man it was a two man fight. And I still think it was a pretty good fight. Still love how Iron Monger grabbed that bikers motorcycle as he passed by and smacked Iron Man across the street. Then proceeded to smash him into the bus and launch a missile at him.

WORD .

I was so disappointed that we didn't get an epic Showdown between these two Titans :trans: . :cmad:

what do i expect?
the usual!

ppl to forget how amazing that actually was and bad mouth it a 30mins to a year after the fact

in this very thread lol

i saw it for the 2nd time yesterday and i gotta admit it look better and a bit more understanding especially the fight scene.

i got mad at myself because i f***ed up my tounge eating to much popcorn cut my tounge a little bit

but back on-topic i think iron man knew that the armor was going to power up or give him a boost of power when the reactor hit him or something. I like obidiah as a bad guy i think he did a good job as the iron monger and look pretty cool but got f**k up by IM with the reactor in all but i think the fight scene was pretty awesome

The fight itself was awesome, but the corny "bwahaha" villain dialogue sorta got me off the movie. When Stane was all shouting "I built this company and nobody will stop me!!" I was like, "Oh come on, not this again" :whatever:. There were another moment in the movie I felt the same way, when the news anchor is all melodramatic with the terrorist thing, going all "Oh, who, who in the world will help this poor people?" That was not just comic booky, but Stan Lee comic booky. :hehe:

These were my only two gripes with the film, and not nearly enough to enjoy it any less. It is still the best Marvel movie and an awesome, fun film. :yay:
