Is hate a part of evolution?

Yea no kiddin'. I come here to talk about how Fox studios screws up my favorite superhero property. If I wanted to walk in on a religion/science debate I'd go to a house party where ppl are smokin' the refer.

Yeah but do we really need higher pursuits? Why are we so important that we have to have some extra meaning behind our existence other than we're here? Just because we're more capable than other less intelligent and less civilized species? I don't know, if you peel away the repression brought on by concrete jungles we're still very primitive, we just don't rely solely on instincts. We're all brought up to separate human from animal, but when it comes down to it, one in the same, just on different levels.

Yes.

lol good luck if you're actually in pursuit of that. I hope you can find the time away from the bulls**t constructions of ordered society to come to an actual conclusion.

Do people really think these thoughts when they are sitting here, typing furiously away at Superherohype?

Yeah, Rick Taps, we do. I'm very interested in the conversation they're having. I hope they continue, it's intriguing reading the different principles and ideas about this discussion.

...yet you have at least twice now come into (and posted in) a thread that discusses evolution.

Gee, I wish I could have sympathy for you.

Yes, please feel sorry for me.
Well, I'm not quite sure what you want. You come into a thread about a certain topic, and then post in said thread to complain about the fact that it's being discussed? I don't understand. Is there somebody there holding a gun to your head or something, forcing you to enter threads discussing topics you dislike?

It comes off as a bit ******ed. I'm just saying.

Conclusions are not half as interesting and the pursuit.

False dichotomy, anyone?

I just came in to check it out and see people's thoughts on why hate is part of human nature. Maybe something would intrigue me. Not for some religion bashing, which is the usual result in stuff like this but I thought I'd give it a chance.

True say, don't think I could die happy chasing my tail and never catching it though. Maybe that's what being human truly means, never satisfied. :awesome:

...Buddha spoke about suffering, he wasn't referring simply to superficial problems like illness and injury, but to the fact that the dissatisfied nature of the mind itself is suffering. No matter how much of something you get, it never satisfies your desire for better or more. This unceasing desire is suffering; its nature is emotional frustration.

Wicked quote. Buddhists... Me and a few friends have been getting into meditation, reading up and practicing it and stuff, truly I think an answer may lie somewhere in there, if there even is one. Still doesn't change my mind about us being animals at the core of our existence though. :o

That's really neat. I just started Zen practice meditation along with a friend a few months ago. Our ideas have since morphed a bit but meditation is certainly a great experience.

If you haven't already looked into these people you should" Ikkyu Sojun, Shunryu Szuki, Dogen, and Ryokan (The monk, not the hotel franchise). All of those people really influenced us and if you run across something cool or interesting let me know. :)

I hate my ex girlfriends but liked them before I started dating them...

I remember throwing pebbles at my first love. :o

Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely shoot any cool findings your way. Within weeks of really learning how to meditate my buddy is an entirely new person, it's crazy.
