I believe it's a film festival. Or a kid. One of the two. Or both?
Something to do with Gay Cowboys and Pudding I think.

No, I brought up OMD as an example of how modern comics are just as ridiculous as older comics. Certainly more ridiculous than a guy being able to ricochet arrows.
Anyone know what issues those events are from?

STILL a TERRIBLE example. OMD should obviously have been banned from comics (and existence altogether). Don't give an example of absolute $&*$ in comics and then try to use that as justification as to why something else entirely ******ed should be allowed in comics.
How about, instead, we hope that ALL things that are crap like that be gotten rid of altogether (or at least put into the "marvel adventures" books where things with that kind of maturity level - or immaturity level- belong).
If I want to see things as ridiculous as arrows ricocheting I can go watch roadrunner and save $3-$4.
Having a guy run around with a bow and arrows on the avengers is about as dignified as if they had Boomerang on the team. Ridiculous.
Sorry that not everything can be The Dark Knight. If you want SUCH MATURE reading maybe you should read Shakespeare or something. I mean jesus, there still comic books. I dotn expect birds to fly around characters heads when anvils fall on their heads but a little overthetop action and cheesy powers never hurt anybody (except you apparently)
I hope he becomes Hawkeye again soon. The Ronin character is just boring.
Also, bow & arrow characters are awesome random havok....Hawkeye and Green Arrow are two of the better characters of each respective company.
Exactly...they're alot more interesting than the more powerful characters
Wow, so for you the only possibilities are either shakespeare or ricocheting arrows (and other looney tunes level action). That's great.
I prefer to imagine an impossible kind of world where fiction stays consistent with its own internal rules. That means that superheroes can do amazing things because, within the fictional world there is a reason for it. However, a world wherein a person supposedly without super powers breaks basic rules of nature is not internally consistent. Think it through.
But that has nothing to do with their silly arrow abilities. It's their attitudes/personalities. You could do the same thing with, say, a punisher-like character. Only they wouldn't be using a weapon that silly and outdated.
Oh come on, obviously an exaggeration.
Im sure if you dig there will be an explanation. Look at the issue where he plays Cap for a day talking about physics and how you can control the trajectory of things. But lets just think about EVERY moment in fiction where something happens that is as possible as ricocheting arrows. Watch any random episode of mythbusters and Im sure you'll notice how many are fake. If your being shot at, car doors are not a good shield. The bullet will rip through and hit you anyway. Shooting a gas tank wont make the car explode either.
I always have fun with this site that includes a number of movie physics that are just plain silly.

Basically what Im trying to say is let it go man.
Trick arrows add plenty to a character....punisher's one note, imo....guns? read a batman or daredevil comic...everyone has guns...punishers still interesting, but not because he has guns
Exactly my point! It's the character, not the weapon. So pick one that's not silly (or at least is used in a way that it's ridiculous).
Okay, here's my point (I'm not complaining for complaining's sake). Take, for example, the action in a movie like, Batman Begins or some such. And compare it to the action in movies like Lethal Weapon (whichever one).
You're right, doors don't block bullets, cars don't explode when you shoot the tank. The answer isn't to just ignore reality, but to make a really good action scene by applying those realities to the action scenes. Can you honestly say that, in a modern day action movie, if they had a car roll over once and then suddenly explode in flames, you WOULDN'T think it was ridiculous and stupid? Sure, they got away with it 20 years ago, but you gotta do better these days. Or, at least you should if you're worth anything.
F**k reality.
