Is Spectre equal to Living Tribunal

Basically. They both serve similar functions, although the Living Tribunal makes a bit more sense (as in, dispensing cosmic justice on a cosmic level).

Spctre seems to get involved in mortal affairs way more often though.

No they are not equal. Spectre exacts god's vengeance.
Living Tribunal maintains balance throughout the multiverse.
One is an act of necessity the other is an act of whimsy.

Spectre is maybe equal to 1 of LT's faces (the retribution face) when not inhibited by the limits of it's host and is in it's purest form

A friend of mine was saying how Ghost Rider and Spectre were a like.

Similar in purpose perhaps. Not really in scale though.

Spectre, like was mentioned, deals in human affairs way more than the Living Tribunal does.

Basically. They share a purpose in a fashion but the LT's is far more expanisve, destroying entire universes that shift the balance. The Spectre, as mentioned above, tends to focus more so on the 'ground level' if you will. Not that it makes him weak but the two character's approach are vastly different.

It's not completely true though, what you guys are saving. Although yes, the Spectre mainly deals in the affairs of humans, it's been shown in the Matteis written title (that's Hal Jordan as the Spectre) that there is basically a Spectre Corps out there, all over the universe, who are all pieces of the Spectre. The Spectre isn't simply God's vengeance on Earth, he's God's vengeance throughout the universe.

I think the point that was being made is that Spectre's single purpose as vengeance isn't as expansive as the LT's other 2. Also as to power, I don't think Spectre's up to par.

If his authority permits him to act so, the Spectre's power can reach that of the LT.

Well, that post basically summs it up.But The Living Tribunal comes as close as its going to get for the Marvel Universe...

spectre's powers are limited by whatever "god" wills them them to be

on one side of things that means that there are no limits...

on the other side it means that there are...

When I compare them I see them as Galactus and Eternity.
Spectre's power varies, depending on which host it is, how much the host is backing him up and so forth.
When Spectre is backed up to 100% by Presence he would equal the Living Tribunal.

LT judges the multiverse

What if The One Above All granted LT more powers?

I never said LT didn't judge the multiverse. I just explained that the Spectre does more than what we're usually shown.

By the way, put all of your comments into one post instead of three.
