I Think I Love Dan Slott

Like Iron Man's armor. I get that it's supposed to look bulky and more realistic than the sleek 616 armor, but he couldn't spring for a complete paint job?

I hate the armor, but I love the way Hitch drew it. Does that make sense?

I love the way Hitch draws everything. His tenure on JLA was heavenly. Of course, I'm starting to resent the fact that he won't just work on a regular superhero mini-series anymore. He's blown up to the point that everything he does is heralded as a huge event.

I can't fault him for that. The guy has grown by leaps and bounds since his first gig. He deserves the praise and press.

He does. It'd just be nice to think that I could still see him draw a few issues of JLA or some other mundane ongoing.

True. But isn't that what this new book of his is going to be?

I don't know. I doubt it, though. When's the last time you saw a mundane ongoing get this kind of fanfare? Bits and pieces of obtuse art and little blurbs of equally vague text generally don't make waves as big as Millar and Hitch's new project is. Marvel's clearly milking it based on the creators' names.

Amazing Spider-Man?

Except we knew what the title was.:o

That's not the point. The point is that it's an existing ongoing, getting major press and fanfare by offering bits and pieces of obtuse images and vague text.

Actually, the phrase was "established title" not existing ongoing. More vagueness. See, The Defenders can be considered an "established title".

That's true. I'd by a new Defenders title if it was done right. I don't know if Millar could do one right, though.

Ha-ha, this is why I could never get into Spider-Man.

It's so stupid, dude. I grew up with the animated series, and that was such a simple formula, it's just maddening to try and understand Marvel's intentions with the current comic books. In every other form of media, it's ten times better than what the actual comics are doing at times.

You know, we probably on agree of a lot of things. Our assheaded nature prevents us from displaying that most times, though. ;)

I mean, Spider-Man seems to be one of those characters where everything is an event. Clone Saga, crap that went on in the 90's, The Other, and countless other huge changes that happened. I mean, Captain America was always Captain America. Fights the Red Skull, beats up on terrorists, end of story. With Spider-Man, it's always this new and bold directions, and frankly I just can't stand that. DC tries to do the same with Superman, but he always just reverts to being just Superman. Spider-Man is always in some constant flux.

Probably, we should make a list.
