i mean we got a half decent first x-men movie which left so many possibilitys open, then we got a pretty good sequel, then we got a third which was messing up the franchise

now instead of trying to do an x-men 4, we are getting x-men origins, if wolvering movie is a success u can bet there will be a sequel, then there is also magneto, i do not know what to think of that, and i hear young x-men is most likely too be made, but what is the point? :s, are they hoping to getting cycs, storm, beasts origins too

im gettin the idea there will be no x-men 4, and that there will be no reboot either, while they find charactors to do spin off's for, aka possibly gambit

and with fox's wolverine lust, anyone else thinks its going getting out of control?

Save for X-Men: The Last Stand being "the last X-Men movie ever," I think everything is going according to plan. Since the beginning, the producers have talked about doing spin-offs, especially one revolving around Wolverine. After that, who knows? Maybe.

In terms of number of movies, I think X-Men is relatively fine. I mean, it's nowhere near reaching the numbers of the James Bond series of movies. Plus, the thus far confirmed movies all seem to make sense, in that they don't feel forced and people were/are likely to be interested enough to watch the movie. It's when Beak gets his solo movie that I'd say that the franchise has gone overboard.

Fox ****ed it up completely... there is no way they can continue their franchise with the flaws that they have already implemented. Even if X-4 is made it's going to have a new cast. Get over it. So why make a sequel or even reboot again in 5-8 years since these reboots are getting tiring IMO. rather I'd like to see Fox try to ammend and rectify their X-Men trilogy by developing these other characters in these prequel films. Magneto/Young X-Men... that has to be priority number one right now for Fox after Wolverine marketing ofcourse. You do those two prequels back to back like they are doing with LOTR or whatever. Tie in all the loose ends. And leave it at that in its own universe. Then Fox can come back and do X-4 some years after the last prequel/spinoff or better yet... give it back to Marvel and let them do the sequels or reboot (preferably sequels since no one would be interested in another Brotherhood vs X-Men trilogy).

What I don't want is what we can probably expect with SM4... a continuation of the story with a bunch of recasts and new directors/writers. That's a terrible move IMO especially for a franchise like X-Men since it isn't about one guy.

I didn't say definitely. But in all likelyhood they will have to be replaced for SM4. Sony would have acted by now if the wanted SM4 with the current director/cast. As for X-4, no doubt most of them if not all of them will be replaced when the time comes.

some users are really negative and seems to not know what a studio can do.

Spiderman 4 will have Tobey, Raimi, etc, etc.

The same with X4, if made.

No, not really.

In order for Fox to hold on to the X-properties they have to keep making movies within a given timeframe. Fox ended the trilogy, so now they're are going to use the spin-offs to maintain their grip on the property.

Eventually (if they still hold the rights), Fox will no doubt seek to either reboot the franchise (which I don't see, it's to risky for Fox) or place the next X-men film within the same continuity as the past films as either a prequel or sequel, inevitably tying the franchise to Singer's vision.

Ugh.

Ditto with the FF franchise. Fox is no doubt going to gauge their future X-endeavors by how well the spinoffs play to audiences. If Wolverine does well (FF "well" is good enough for Fox, which is alarming) expect more spin-offs, leading to an eventual fourth X-film.

In other words it's just business.
