I know the title seems a little confusing for those who dont know what im referring to but I remember when X2 did its test run, the ending of the film didnt have jean grey die neither the phoenix flying under the water, Singer threw that in after the test screenings to surprise fans and it did.

Does anybody else believe its possible that Raimi might do the same seeing as its only had one or two screenings (can someone elaborate on that for me) and i mean it would be a great surprise and a change like
Eddie brock not dying in the film the same way in the novelisation
. Its possible Raimi just wanted to see what people would think of the ending not to mention its practically being spoiled on these boards.

So what does everyone else think?

I wouldn't get my hopes too high... I think everything we heard makes perfect sense.

Venom dies, and in my opinion, it's central to the theme and symbolism of the symbiote in the film

It's a little late for that. People who have seen the advanced screenings of the movie have confirmed that
Brock dies. Just in a different way to the novel.

It's time to accept it people.

When I saw this thread, I thought he was gonna talk about how Bryan Singer jumped the X-men ship to go to Superman. Anyway, no I doubt hes gonna change the ending.

well you guys are partly right but its never to late, the dvd can have an alternate ending. OR maybe it will be like X3 with a scene after the credits. Has it been confirmed that their is/n't a addition scene after the credits?

that would make me happy if ther was one:woot::woot:

Dear Lord, please help people to learn the difference between words. Such as "there" and "their", Amen.

And not say ther when they meant there or their...haha

Raimi would not "pull" a Bryan Singer...he has already stated that he has thought about a Spider-Man 4...but, Spider-Man 3 hasn't even open in the US...so, you've already got your hopes up, haven't you?

It has already been confirmed, at least for the advance screenings, that there is no scene after the credits.

ive been reading through some of the forums on this site and noticed that people who have seen the film have pointed out scenes that were evident in the trailers but were not in the film. im guessing this will fall under extended scenes for spider-man 3 dvd, im not saying deleted only cause so far raimi has yet to release a spider-man film onto dvd with deleted scenes, which is really stupid.

It'd be cool if it went back to the novel way, but it won't happen.

FYI,

Singer NEVER changed the ending for X-men 2.

The novelization and the comics just didn't include the ending with Jean "dying". So it was more of a surprise when the movie was released. Some misleading photos were taken with Jean with the X-men in the White House, so people were expecting her to be there at the end.

The ending was NEVER changed.

"So the fact that he was a mechanical engineer and could create this special substance and special gadget, I felt it was better to ignore in an attempt to be truer to the spirit of the character that Stanley had created versus an attempt to be truer to the specifics of every detail that he created."

I hate that comment with a passion.
Peter being a highly intelligent science geek isn't just a throw away specific that one simply ignores, it's a character trait that makes peter who and what he is. His inventions are a one of a kind that separates him from everyone else. I'm not saying I want to see spider-tracers or some other hight-tech complex gadget BUT the web-shooters are/were legendary. This subject is clearly dead and I'm addressing this only because of Raimi's comment. Peter is indeed an everyman but ironically at least from what I've seen in sm1 and 2, Peter's character is absurdlu unrealistic and isn't the everyman. He's more like the skin of a shell of how he should be.

Shame Eddie dies. Could have been a spin-off Venom movie. Ah, well, I guess it stops more symbiotes like Carnage...

i keep thinking about this spidey comic where spider goes to hank pym's house to get help with tracking and they discuss the spider tracers and pym is like freaking out because peter is so ****ing msart when he was 16

PETE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE THE NEXT SUPER BRAIN SUPER HERO
IRON MAN,PYM,RICHARDS....PARKER!!!

who cares if he dies or not i doubt there be more of these movies anyways and if there is they won't use him again.

Sam isn't going to change the ending. and besides, I love the way the ending is. it's going to be very affective and wise in a very good way. I understand that people want Venom to live but is there any really big reason for him to? I mean his death is going to be very cool and useful. not to mention that Venoms death is going to teach a lesson and that lesson is, don't let revenge consume you and Eddie Brock suffered the consequince of letting the Symbiote consume him which is something that I find unique and cool. Venom is without a doubt not only the best villian but a very interesting one IMO. anyway, the ending of this movie seems to fit perfectley so if Sam did change it (thank god he didn't) then that wouldn't be a great move on my part.
