Is there anything better than Batman: The Animated Series?

First of all how can you not like TAS  And The Batman is a horrible show. I could go on about how horribly they destroyed all that is Batman in that series, it makes me sick. But it's probably because I am such a super fan of TAS.

Makes you sick because of the graphic nature of the show? Understandable.

I agree that all 4 seasons out on DVD now should be bought at once. I recently watched all four seasons over the course of four days (I've been very free lately). It was DOMINANT.

Make me sick because they are a horrible representation of Batman and I'm ashamed of it and everyone who takes it as a true Batman show. TAS is the only Batman TV show that was a good representation of the universe, and The Batman is nowhere close to it in any way.

You do realise that somewhere right now there is a little kid watching 'The Batman' with a huge grin on his/her face, seeing the amazing adventures of his favourite charcter...Then he/she will happily go and play with the action figures from the show.

Point being... in 10/15 years time that little kid will be just as passionate about the Batman chracter, the comics, the movie ect. *because of that little cartoon show*. He/she will come to realise it wasn't great but nostalgia will simply kick in.

'The Batman's job is to get young kids to like the charcater for a new generation and i think its doing a masterful job!!

Yeah, The Batman is really more of a kids show. TAS is aimed squarely at adults. Kids watched it, adults enjoyed it. I remember when I watched it as a kid I just liked the whole atmosphere, but watching it again as an adult? Nothing comes close!

THose who grew up with TAS were really lucky. I still watch The Batman once in a while. The comparisons will go on till the end of time, but it honestly doesn't compare at all with TAS. They do how ever have the rare good episode, key word rare lol. I really like the way they introduced their version of clayface. I like how they kinda had Bennet tied down and Joker hypnotizing him (in a much more kid friendly way) similar to the way it was done in the Killing Joke. BUt ya other than that nothing really stands out in The Batman.

BTAS was a kid's show that attracted adults. It had a few corny episodes.

I don't think it was squarely aimed at adults, but it didn't treat kids like morons either. It certainly had mature themes, as opposed to The Batman. I just think that as kids, we never picked up on it. Example:

The Underdwellers episode. I haven't seen that episode since i was a kid, and forgot about it completely until i bought Season 1 on DVD. It blew my mind with the subject matter.

Child Slavery? :wow:

One of my favorite episodes. but Perchance To Dream is by far, my favorite episode of the show.

That's what I meant, it was a cartoon that seemed as if it was solely aimed at kids, but looking back you can tell it was ay ahead of its time and actually aimed at adults...
