New "Beware The Batman" CG-Series

Co-showrunner Mitch Watson mentions in this interview (around 1:25:44) that the main reason for this show's cancellation was likely because Mattel wanted to do its own toyline instead of creating one for this series. Without a toyline and an already-hostile relationship with Cartoon Network, the show was vulnerable for cancellation.

Please, DC streaming service, push for more episodes of this series, please.

It's very unlikely, but I think a new season of this show would be perfect for HBO Max, especially since it is already streaming there. CGI has improved so much since the show first came out. Plus, with less restrictions, they can easily use realistic guns like they intended from the beginning and tackle more mature content, like Young Justice Outsiders did.

This was a pretty nice video essay. I don't agree with every point it made (the old tired "these villains are just ripoffs of the originals"), but I'm glad more people are coming around on the series, especially now that there's a new show on the way.

Glen Murakami reveals an old rough sketch of what the Outsiders would've looked like if season 2 of the series would've happened. Besides Batman, Katana, Oracle, Metamorpho, and Man-Bat, we would've seen Cyborg and what looks like a Red Arrow/Robin mix join the team. Also, Katana would've eventually become Nightwing and Oracle would've been Robin (resembling Carrie Kelley).

What exactly was Cartoon Network's problem with the show?

I think it's the same deal they had with other WB Animation shows. That is to say, they didn't profit from them as much since they only aired them, instead of also producing them. Plus, WB's culture of inter-company rivalry.
