Sequels is this a good sign?

So that means that they are actually waiting to have a finished script before: Setting a release date, hiring actors and making contracts, filming etc.

that IS a good sign.

I couldn't agree more. It is always best to have the script finished first.

hopefully it will tie in with the rest of the marvel universe as far as the hulk and iron man
I would love for that to happen, but i for some reason i jus don't see Tobey wanting 2 come back and do all that. :csad:

*sigh*

Sony owns 6 Spider-Man films...thus I highly doubt Marvel Studios will be involved in the production.

i wouldn't mind seeing someone new play spiderman, and any hero crossover would be awsome.:woot:

i hate to say it but because of how bad spidey 3 was it may take longer then we think for number 4. i think that the film did alot of damage to the franchise regardless of how much money it made. it remains to be seen who will come back and if this will be a reboot or a direct sequel. i honestly think that sony is concerned on what the heck they are going to do. Ex: the first two batman movies were good, but they were topable (there could be films better about Batman). I don't know how they will top spidey 2, and the remaining roster of villians is somewhat week when it comes to translating them on film. I mean we have the lizard who will be great, but after that we have rhino, shocker, vulture, electro, etc. they may end up coming off as lame. The movies need to get back to being about peter without making him annoying and a cry baby. Thoughts?

Regardless of fanboy opinion, the movie made TONS of money. Sure, it may not be as highly regarded as SM1 or SM2, but that is moot. Fanboys hate BF, but they still made B&R.

SM4 is going to happen.

There's no such thing as "regardless of how much money it made." Money is the bottom line; there's nothing more important to a studio than that. And the bottom line is that Spider-Man 3 was one the most successful superhero movie of all time.

Exactly.

That newb uses the most idiotic logic imaginable.

Sony needs to go with the "stone tablet" story line. There's over 3 movies in that alone and some classic villians. Most important no ******ed Venom. I say use Mysterio to use Shocker, Kraven (throw Lizard in here), and then take matters to himself in third. Have Mysterio work for Silvermain.

The "Stone Tablet" storyline with 5 villains, have you been drinking mister?

They're only using TWO villains.

I think he was trying to say have the stone tablet story take place over the next 3 movies.

I wanna see Mysterio on the big screen!!!!
but I dont want an overload rape of villians...
I say Lizard and Kraven if you want a deep story...maybe throw Mysterio in for your boy Caleb :)

All I can say is, if Lizard is not involved, I wont be very happy. In fact, I would have rather seen him in SM3 over Venom.

If it is anounced that Carnage is in this movie. Then I'll know it's being made for all the wrong reasons.

I like to see Silvermain and Hammerhead be involved of trying to ruin Spiderman.

I thought it was a rather bland note. It sounds like not much progress has been made and he simply had to say something to imply it is in development. I'm guessing 2011 at the earliest at this point, and maybe not until 2012 so Sony can avoid the glut of Marvel movies that year. It seems Marvel is now starting to focus on its own thing in their production company and are letting the other properties have full reign by their respective studios. No mention of Wolverine at Fox and barely an acknowledgement of SM4 at Sony.

Not that I mind, I'm much more excited about an Avengers movie. But it seems Marvel is minding their own business more now and that not much of anything has been done for SM4. It also is becoming quite apparent that Raimi and co. are gone.

P.S. If you think the studio is sweating bullets though because it got mixed (though mostly positive) reviews from the critics and general hatred from the fan community, you're insane. They're still counting the money and will just retool the next batch of films to "appease" the masses into what the really want.

Which could be very good or very bad. Time will tell.

Yeah, I was commenting on Sony owning still 3 more Spidey movies. My bad, I should have been more clear. I was mapping out the 3 movies left, thinking it would easier to produce having all three movies laid out at the beginning. Like LoTR's. Another good story line would be Peter's growing extra limbs w/Mobious (I know I butchered that) and Man-Wolf, but that might be too super-natural for the masses.

Man-Spider...Tablet Of Time...Man-Wolf?

You're pulling up some of Spider-Man's weakest stories/story-arcs.
