Marvel Studios update

Look these movies aren't the producers. They are merely RELEASING the movies.

Marvel made Iron Man, that simple. I'm just saying though, I personally do not trust Fox as a distributor.

Well... my middle name is Fat "overreactor" Tonie, although that applies to a lot of people at the Hype. But seriously... Marvel is going to have to work a deal through Sony IMO. I could easily see Sony distributing Cap if Paramount isn't the lock that we all thought it was... and even if that's the case and Sony reworks an extension on the side with the Spidey franchise... I still don't think that deal will be good enough... SOny is just going to play the "We haven't done a Marvel film since 07" card... while you guys (Marvel Studios) have had two tentpoles in both 08 and 10, so now it's our turn". What can Marvel say in their defense? And if Marvel doesn't budge Sony could easily put SM4 in May as well... and I don't care what anyone says and three years is an eternity away I understand that... but it will be a BIG mistake having those two films out in the same month. That's all I'll say in regard to that.

I seriously think Cap shouldn't come out in 2011 anyway.

Marvel needs to do 1 big film a year, and maybe two small films in less competitive months, like February and late August.

I really want:

2010: Thor
2011: Iron Man 2
2012: Captain America and the Avengers

So then why Avengers in the same year? But anyhow if we are going to post how we'd like it to ideally be done... they should do what I have advocated before. Being that Sony and Fox are the only two other studios that have Marvel property that the GP actually cares about... they can work in a three year rotation. Fox has the big one coming up in 09. 2012 they can do their X-Men prequel or whatever they are planning. Marvel Studios can keep IM2 in 2010... but hold off on Avengers till like 2013. Sony might as well have 2011 for SM4... with SM5 for 2014. That way the market doesn't suffer from oversaturation in a single year. And I agree that Marvel should only be doing one major film most years.

I view Captain America and the Avengers as a two parter almost, and wouldn't want to see a year between them.

Two parters released so close together might not do as well though.
