As in is this worse than Fantastic Four was?

It isn't worse than F4. But it isn't good, imo.

You'd be best to form your own opinion. But if you're asking what we think, you're going to get a mixture of answers. Some loved it, some were mixed on it, and some didn't like it at all.

I fall into the didn't like it bracket. The movie is a mess.

The movie was a mess but at least it had a 3 act structure. FFINO went from 1 straight to 3.

Depends on your expectations, my friend. Eye of the beholder.

It be best if you avoided opinions... Its better to go in hoping for the best instead of being on the lookout for validation of the complaints.

I'll say this much, the 30% score on RT is a thoroughly undeserved one imo.

Beyond that, I'll leave you to form your own opinion.

The critics are right about a lot, but I'd put it on level with most comic book movies. Not a terrible film, not a Nolan Batman film either though. How much the flaws matter to you will depend on your personal tastes.

It's bad, but not 29% on rotten tomatoes bad

or maybe it is, what do I know

I loved it! thought it had moments that could be better but It also had some moments that were Killer awesome too.
It was too busy trying to tie things together. but I loved watching it. Going to see it in Imax 3d Saturday

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and everyone will have their opinion on Batman v Superman... sadly though I fear a lot of people will have their opinion influenced by other peoples opinions –
Personally I thought it was ****ing epic – loved every last second of it :woot:

It's a disappointment, but still a good movie. The harsher criticisms are overblown. It's honestly nowhere near as bad as F4, GL or half the X-Men films.

Some of the visuals and a few scenes are nice, but it's joyless. The whole time watching it that word was in my head.

My opinion, no, it's not that bad. In fact, I enjoyed quite a lot of the movie. I didn't love it like I hoped to, but their is a lot to like about it. The editing of the film can be jarring. It goes from scene to scene to scene... their's a lack of fluidity, and no breathing room. This film can easily be picked apart, and already has... but like I said, a lot to enjoy, if you want to.

IMO, 29% on RT is just plain wrong. I'd say at least 60-70% but this is coming from a DC fan...

And I'll end up seeing it again this week.

it's not a 3/10 like Rotten Tomatoes would have you believe.

But it's not great.

It is not. It is a complicated film and not the film I think ANY of us were expecting Snyder to produce so it is creating a lot of mixed, visceral, and pasisonate responses from the fanbase and critics. All day long I've been reading this forum and I've seen many, many, many posts say "I love this movie, this was fantastic. I'm seeing it for the third time." I don't think anyone said that about movies like Fantastic Four or Green Lantern or Amazing Spiderman 2.

But definitely go in with a WIDE open mind. Snyder takes a lot of creative liberties that your either gonna enjoy or hate vehemently.

I'll say this: don't listen to the haters who shut down people that love the film, and don't listen to the fanboys who shut down people that didn't love the film. There's no conspiracy theory here, this film is divisive for valid reasons, and people like / dislike it for valid reasons. How much you like it will depend on your personal preferences.

I don't think so. It's very much a comic book come to life. It feels like a realistic world where Batman and Superman exist. It has drama. It has a serious tone which I worried about, but this time, I was engaged in. It worked without having too much humor. Provided, that doesn't mean there can't be more humor in it. I actually do have to praise Chris Terrio for it. I did not care for the ending, but it is pretty good. While Superman and Batman are very present in the film, the film cuts to all characters in the film after every 2-4 minutes. Sometimes each scene feels short.

They did. You may not have seen their posts but they did.

the one thing I think that could of waited was the dream stuff and give the Darkseid hint at the end. took to much time to get going didn't need to see Batman's parents dying again. could of put Mom just as easy as Martha. JMO

There's a lot of people in this thread that misunderstand how rottentomatoes works.

29% is not a score, it's a ratio. It doesn't make sense to say it 'deserves higher.'

The average score on rottentomatoes is 5/10.

It's a Batman/Superman movie. It's dark, it's violent, it's ballsy, it's also flawed on several aspects, like most cb movies are. It's not a crowd pleaser. Is it worse than most cb movies? It's more ambitious than most and gives you more to complain about. I can honestly tell you that critics are having an impact on the way people perceive the movie. A lot of them are going in already expecting to find certain flaws. It's not worse than FF, IMO. It's actually better than most cb movies. To me.

It's one of those movies where a lot of things are not very well executed or don't make much sense, but then has moments that are much better than almost anything you will find on other cb movies. It's very bittersweet.
