I didn't read any formal critics' reviews, but did read hypester fan reviews, and so had a good idea of what to expect going in. I'm glad for that because I suspect the plot would've completely lost me if I hadn't known where it was going. OTOH, there were some flaws I might not have noticed on my own. Outside of that:

- I liked Gadot every bit as much as many other hypesters did.

- Batman impressed me much less.

- The fight between Batman and Superman didn't seem as short to me as it did to others. I was satisfied with it, I suppose.

- The jar of piss scene wasn't as terrible as I imagined it in my head to be.

- The tone was much drearier than even I'd feared. It was the absolute worst part of the movie, more so than the messy plot.

On the whole, I guess the reviews didn't impact me much. I doubt I would've liked BvS if I'd gone in cold. I might've even liked it less.

No.

I expected crap and i got a pile of it.

Still better than expecting crap and getting a jar of piss. They blew your expectations actually.

Critics lowered my overall expectations and increased my Wonder Woman expectations. I was disappointed by both.

Loved it despite the reviews

Only effected my view of the critics. Actually that's not true, for the last few years its been pretty low so really didn't affect that either. Made my best friend want to see it more. "any heroic movie with that different audience and critic score must be great because critics neither like of understand our type of heroes"

Yeah, they lowered my expectations to the point I was able to actual mildly enjoy this film. That would not have been possible going in cold.

No, because I'm capable of thinking on my own.

But the point is, i expected crap since it was announced they were making Batman vs Superman.
There was only one Superman movie and no Batman (in the DC cinematic universe) and they were already jumping on having both together?! It had crap written all over it from the get go.
And when i read that WW would be there, i said: "go home DC, you're drunk".

Not only were they drunk, but they puked like crazy
I tend to sense this things, i usually get right 80% of the time when i say a comic book movie is going to suck.

The most important thing I would tell seniors in a Current World Issues class (note that I am neither a Current World Issues teacher nor a teacher on any level), is not to succumb to propaganda. Do the research and reading yourself. Explore on your own.

In this case. I failed miserably. The critics killed the film for me. I was entertained for my almost 20$ worth. It was an exciting film for the most part. I would've rated it a fresh for that alone. Yes, overall, I was slightly disappointed, but I was entertained. I saw some of the greatest comic book visuals a fanboy can ask for. I saw some better than average writing no less. I saw a script that mostly worked, despite teetering on collapse at times.

Man oh man, the critics swayed me big time. I braced for worst case scenario, I got something better than Transformers and better than most Marvel movies IMO. What more can you ask for? But I'm a BvS and a Snyder hater still... that's the world we live in folks.

Wait, so you hate most Marvel movies?

Loved the film. Read a lot of good reviews and bad reviews before I went to see it. I learned long ago not to pay attention to critics. Besides, its always best to to view the film yourself to form your own opinion than to just go by what others say.

Yeah... I do. Ultron was garbage for the most part. GotG was a good flick for a 12 year old. I'm looking forward to Civil War because TWS was decent. Iron Man sequels were obviously above average but nothing more than that. MCU films do nothing for me anymore. I don't think I am going to be watching Infinity War barring some phenomenal reviews or highly anticipated characters I'm dying to see together in an ensemble.

Yeah, i felt same when i heard Wonderwoman and then even Doomsday will be in it. Still hoped for best though.

Honestly no. To me, seeing it the first time, my initial thoughts were: "Well, it wasn't as bad as how fans or critics made it out to be but at the same time, it wasn't really worthy of the hype some people gave it or it should have been.", While second time around, it was a much more enjoyable experience.

Looking at the poll results, I think the consensus has spoken here. We don't let others sway our judgement on movies. We make up our own minds.

I don't know, how many write-in votes did we get for "I hate manipulative poll questions"? :gngl:

Not one bit. Not once in my life have or will I let some critic dictate my enjoyment from what I want to see. I've seen it three times now and will go one more time. It just gets better and better. Everyone I have talked to in person that has seen the film has said the critics are dead wrong. I'll believe my friends over paid critics.

Critics made bad mouth voice louder n made general audiences hesitate to watch this movie no doubt. That's a shame.

Critics got me down, i spent the whole movie going 'ok this scene is ok, this is ok, ok i can see why they didn't like that, this is ok, this is ok' rather than watching it fresh with no opinion. I need to really watch it again.

I actually liked this movie, and I understand the critical drubbing it has received but nevertheless I think this movie was geared for fans like us.

Not sure if it affected my opinion, but as the movie went on I found myself agreeing with the critics more and more.

Certainly no. All super hero movies has it's flaws like the TS state that, and so does BvS, but it's positive out weight the negative. And tone wise, certainly it's a movie that challenge the audience to stay put, continuously provoke their mind, sometimes makes them uneasy but still hoping for the best for our dear heroes and embrace new take of this beloved characters that were put in a real life situation and condition. When we can put and open minded on their direction and let go your own concept and expectation, there is no more struggling and all that is left is enjoyment and appreciation.

and My mom can't stop talking and discussing this movie for the next 3 days and Dad still amazed by Luthor's machinations. It's a movie that was meant to be seen more than once, that is for sure.

Nope. I saw the spoilers. I saw the negative reviews. And I came out of the movie enjoying it very much.
