Looks like the Returns suit is slowly made into comic canon. Just like Donner's crystal Krypton was and the most funny thing is yet to come, Donner is soon co-writting Action comics. Ahhh wonderful times for the lovers of the movies.

Because it's on the back. It's like having two liscense plates. It makes sense to have one in front and one in back, but if you had two in the front, it looks stupid.

I hate it, quite frankly a stupid singer addition that has no use in function or style, \S/ on the cape would be more suited. But he does look pissed as hell, probably at why his movie didn't do well BO wise

I've been guilty of it plenty of times. Hey, you get a quicker response out that way . The buckle doesn't bother me so much; it is sort of redundant and if they are going to use another S, I'd agree with putting it on his cape. But its not a big gripe with me, I'll take it if its there. The art looks really great in those shots, thats what I like most!

I like the S on the belt, with the design of it the belt as well.

The other one doesn't really get your eye. It's a cool design, and visually....it's nice.

I think it'll be nice to see the comics do that.

Okay...so, they altered the S on his chest to look more like a faceplate (like the film), they brought back the Fortress of Solitude......only this time LIKE the movies (with it being created by a Kryptonian crystal and all).....and now the belt.

Hmmm.....there could be more I would imagine.....

I picked up Up, Up and Away a few days ago, it was cool, but then the continuity got ****ed when they changed his suit from part 5, in part 6.

Uh, regardless of the \S/, when you look at the comic panels, the top row, center panel, where Supes is snapping the gun barrels off, has now become one of my favorite Supes pics of all times. If someone can enlarge and color it, I will be you best friend.
BTW, is Supes stomping around, or is his weight enough to crack whatever he is walking on? ALSO: suspension of belief be damned, would you really even CONSIDER robbing a bank in Metropolis? Knowing Ol' Red and Blue is just waiting for you to do sumpin' like that?
EDIT: Looking back at the panel, I am just making the assumption it was a bank robbery. Whatever.

And it could have been badass in the film just like in the pic if they had use a better cape design. Attachment close to the neck is fine, but you need volume around the neck so as it's flowing backwards and looks wider around the shoulders because it is anchored further out with the addition of folds and pleats...not some limp faux-leather little red riding hood cape like they had in Superman Returns where the attachment by the neck made the cape look like Superman was wearing a leather triangle from the local fabric store. SR's suit design had some good ideas but overall it was uninspired.
