Spare-Flair said:That's the attitude that Superman purists can't stand, because to them, fans who say "it doesn't matter" "it's not a big deal "stop being picky" "it's their movie" sound (to purists) like they don't care enough about Superman. That they have no loyalty to Superman. Or that they don't mind settling for something less than they deserve or the character deserves.
Don't settle for less or accept mediocrity when you can have greatness.

i hate the fact that they use the actual symbols of the emblem... that's what draws attention to it.Mr. Thing said:I would. It looks lame in my opinion. I wouldn't want an s on the belt in any form, but if they did have to have one I'd choose the SR one over that.
That's true for a lot of comics though. Does Batman's old belt really need the capsules, before it was even explained as pouches? What about the X-Men and their X designs on their belts and then as patches on their shoulders? Does Superman really need his symbol on his cape? It's a design thing. Their purpose is to exist as someone's choice of design. It doesn't have to have a practical explanation. It's arbitrary. Some people try to explain it later or try to make stories that fit their designs but it often comes down to taste.kakarot069 said:it's stupid because it seres no mother f***ing purpose whatsoever.
Superman "purists". I love it. Being a purist, in my opinion, leads to stagnancy and a stranglehold on creativity. Great ideas can never be found if people are too afraid to try the lesser ideas.Spare-Flair said:Don't settle for less or accept mediocrity when you can have greatness.

Spare-Flair said:And it could have been badass in the film just like in the pic if they had use a better cape design. Attachment close to the neck is fine, but you need volume around the neck so as it's flowing backwards and looks wider around the shoulders because it is anchored further out with the addition of folds and pleats...not some limp faux-leather little red riding hood cape like they had in Superman Returns where the attachment by the neck made the cape look like Superman was wearing a leather triangle from the local fabric store. SR's suit design had some good ideas but overall it was uninspired.
It's a give or take. Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. It happens all the time in the comics to varying degrees.Wesyeed said:I know. That's why I never truly understood the hatred for catwoman.

God I wish she would get her story straigt. In the interveiw with her a few months ago on SHH she said that Bryan came in and said "I want a small S" Now It was her pushing it on Bryan to go smaller. Also, Bryan said he at first wanted a big S when the suit first came out. Why dont they come out and say "Bryan wanted a big S, but the 3D made it where this is as big as we could go." Which is the truth. At least Tom Bronson said it when he said "we could not make it bigger and still have it be 3D without folding." Thank god Dayus wasn't costume designer or we would have had a shield the size of a stamp.kakarot069 said:
