It's No Joke: Rambo, The Video Game

I have nothing to add regarding the game, however...

That doesn't look great, but what would I know? [BLACKOUT]I've never seen any of the Rambo movies.[/BLACKOUT]

Was he hiding from The Predator there at the end?

I'm glad to report that since I made that post I have seen all the Rambo movies!

What did you think of them? Personally I think First Blood is a classic with the rest ranging from mediocre (Rambo II) to awful (Rambo III) to borderline worst thing ever made (Rambo). I've never been into '80s cheesefests, though.

Well! I happen to be an 80s action movie connoisseur, and Rambo II and III but especially II though?

I mean the first one was okay. As an action movie it was fine I guess. Not the best or not the worst. And as a "serious" movie, I would say the same thing. I wasn't exactly blown away by the acting or story. Those elements didn't fail or succeed, they were just... there. Same as the action. Not a home run, but a nice base hit.

We can agree that Rambo 4 sucks though. I really didn't enjoy it one bit, and I was really expecting to. What a let down. They should have just ended the series with Rambo and Colonel Campbell broing out in the desert.

I'm surprised you feel that way about the first film. The story was very poignant, and I thought it was the best performance Sly has probably ever had, especially during the end when he was going on about life back in the states after the war. I think it would have been more powerful if he would've killed himself like was originally intended. In my head, that's how the first one really ends, with the other movies being an overstylized and overgloritized dream of Rambo of his days at war in his last seconds of life.

The fourth one can not exist.

Yeah, I don't know. Like I said, the first one was fine. I enjoyed it. I did. But I also found it to be kind of... bland. I guess that would be a good way to put it.

And remember I had never seen them before and I watched them in order, so it's not like my perception of the series was skewed or anything. I mean, I had a vague notion that the first one was supposed to be a lot better and more serious than the sequels, so if anything I went into it expecting to like it more than the others. And to be totally honest, I found the story, the "emotional elements" for lack of a better term, and the message to be more affecting the second one than the first. That's just me though.

You should get this game then, it seems about equivalent in quality.

I find 4 underrated and the best sequel or at least better than III

This is me and Tron right now:
