Does anyone suspect that the texture of the suit may have to also do with the budget of the film?

The texture of the Rami suit, with the differing color of the webs (sometimes silver, sometimes black, etc, changing with the light) may have been harder to realistically animate, and more expensive. Perhaps, while maintaining the look that they were looking for, this was a model that could be animated more easily, as it has textures, but is more "slick" and stream lined than the last suit...

...just a thought.

I do like the suit though, more than I thought I would. And he does look VERY skinny it the suit, not as bad as I feared, but I would have preferred a little more mass... Still, I am pleasantly surprised.

Was this posted here yet? Lynn Hirschberg from 'W' magazine interviewed a couple of actors for some sort of portfolio short asking them what movies made them cry. Garfield's answer shows up really quickly a little before the 3:30 mark, at around 3:27 or something like that. Probably a few months or a year or so old (the interview).

This looks to be the Superman Returns version of Spider-Man's costume and we all know how that movie turned out.

heh, I don't think the quality of the suit is what made SR bad or good. I can't say if I like this new Spidey suit or the actor, but will reserve more judgement when I see an actual trailer.

Somebody explain to me how putting blue into the gloves, taking away the red waistband, and putting red down the leg makes this design "more gritty".
I recall someone posting a brighter image of it, showing that parts of the suit had actually been torn off, one part being the belt. Which I'm not surprised about, considering there's a freakin' set of claw marks on the spider emblem.
I'm going to wait for a full, clean image of the suit before passing complete judgment. So far, my only problem with it is that the spider emblem is just the Raimi emblem with longer legs. I can tolerate the dark overtone of the photo. It adds to the idea that Peter just got through a pretty intense fight.

are yo utalking about CGI

if yes then the answer is no. they can scan and model everything on the computer no matter the budget. its very simple today to make a CGI double

Judging from this pic, Raimi's suit has more accuracies than this one. What happened to immense accuracy of suits from fans? For God sakes, the GL suit was more accurate and that got alot more hate. Now this is suddenly okay? I was honestly expecting a lightening storm of rage here but I'm surprised it is the complete opposite.
Here's how I look at it.

If we didn't get Raimi's Spider-Man back in 2002, but we got Webb's as well as this suit, there probably would have been alot of fan backlash. The reason alot of people are not upset is probably because they intended to deviate from what Raimi had already had done, which is why I like the new suit in terms of being different, as I have stated.

I do love this costume. The way I see it, yes it's not 100% accurate, but I'm also a Batfan and let me say that if we got a Batsuit in the films as close as this one is to comic accurate Spidey, I'd be happy. More than happy. I'd be squirting.

Yeah, I'd say we mastered photo-realistic texture as far back as 2003. It's only movement that is still the issue today.

Aww, no Mysterio? :(

I wonder if going with Bruce Campbell for him is still okay. :ninja:

gah, i leave the hype for three days and they release THIS ?????

Darkness Falls Approves :D

i kinda like it more than the raimi version... idk why but raimi's suit always looked kinda faded in some shots if that makes sense...

Superman Returns?

Simply because the costume has questionable texture?
Well I mean in the way fans were complaining on Superman's small \S/ and tiny briefs much the same way people are pissing over Spider-Man's costume.

Literally looks like he took the picture of the suit, got dressed and moved his hair to the side as opposed to in front. aha
