Garfield looks good. Not muscular at all, but it just about works. The suit itself looks... ok.

To be honest I don't really care how Spiderman's suit looks. With Batman it can make a difference, with Spiderman it doesn't really matter either way.

I find it much easier to buy Garfield as a teenager than Tobey.

Me too. Maguire's body was much closer to that of a gymnast ,while Garfield's looks more like a Cross Country runner or Swimmer . I'm really digging the suit and Garfield looks like he's gonna be a great Spiderman.

Eh, Garfield does have muscle and the musculature of the costume is perfect.

I think spidey's costume should be taken under much more consideration that batman's. Batman is like ironman. He can wear any garb just so long as it's easy to identify him. Batman has had many different get ups but you know it's him. Spidey on the other hand has a costume that is so iconic and distinguishable that anything else collectively will not be accepted.

I don't now about that, at this point I say the original is still above the new one

But I do enjoy looking at this new one, and I'm looking forward to seeing the mask on and it in action. The mask (and full suit) will be interesting to see 'cause Garfield's got a really long body and face so I hope it doesn't look too strange

The original is a perfect translation from the comics, this new one differs from the comic slightly but still looks great and is somehow more believable as something a teenager could make and wear.

I'd say they were equally good.

I would have thought the opposite was true. spidey's red and blues are truly iconic were as batman can have a whole host of changes and it doesn't make much of a difference at all.

Somebody explain to me how putting blue into the gloves, taking away the red waistband, and putting red down the leg makes this design "more gritty" .

Somebody explain to me how putting blue into the gloves, taking away the red waistbend, and putting red down the leg makes this design "more gritty" .

The blue on the gloves is my only problem. I believe the belt/waist area will be on the suit, as it looks like it's been torn off here, and I see no sign of red on th legs but do see some at the very top--almost like the remains of said belt/waist area. None of those things are what makes this look 'gritty'. The colour, the shapes made with the design, and its sleak look could be described as 'gritty', although that's not the word I'd choose to use.

I just love the fact that it seems different... it shouldn't be too different, and I dont think it is either. this is just a pic. I am digging the suit though.
