I'll join you Cat. Diggin on left overs.

Uh, yay? I stopped eating turkey last night at around 6pm, and I don't plan on devouring that particular species of bird again until late December.

*eating 2 turkey sammichs and a small bowl of heated up stuffing as he is typing this post*
:awesome:

I just finished eating another turkey sandwich. :o

I have no no leftovers. Went to the sister's for Thanksgiving...and a accident happened in which glass got into some of the food. And thus she had to use some instant stuff to replace the stuff. So what was gonna be a big meal got turned into a smaller one.

:o was still good until I got da runs/cramps from it :wow:. So yes, Thanksgiving lunch was a disaster to my stomach.

My family has both ham for Christmas as well as turkey. We also have fish occasionally.

And since when is the weeks of leftovers a good thing about Thanksgiving?

Exaggeration, but seriously, I remember when leftovers were the least desirable part of the holiday.

May aunt made Thanksgiving dinner which means I didn't even finish my first helping.

Finished off the last of the chocolate cream pie. Damn it was good.

I REALLY wish I had leftovers. I went to my grandmother's but forgot to bring tupperware. So I fit as much as I could into my macaroni and cheese pan that I'd brought, but my mother ate most of it because she'd had to work on Thanksgiving :csad: I want an open faced turkey sandwich! :cmad:

I wanted to have some of my mac and cheese since it's the best in the world, but I didn't make enough to bring home.

That's a good idea, I may do that too. I'd challenge Bobby Flay to a Mac and Cheese Throwdown, mine is so good.

Ooo, would you be willing to share your recipe? I tried out a new one that uses 5 different kinds of cheeses...turned out really yummy. I love trying new mac n cheese recipes, though!

I only use three cheeses, but it's how I make my sauce that makes it.

this is my ingredient list
4 cups (1 pound) elbow macaroni
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cups milk
1/2 medium onion, stuck with 1 clove
4 cloves garlic
1 bay leaf
3 sprigs fresh thyme
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups grated Cheddar, plus 1 cup in big chunks
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

I add a cup each also of shredded Monterey jack and gruyere(not sure of spelling) but it's similar in flavor to blue cheese. which I mix in with the sauce at the same time as the cheddar.

Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Coat a large baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter and set it aside. Put the milk into a saucepan and add the clove studded onion, garlic, bay leaf, thyme, and mustard. Warm over medium low heat until the milk starts to steam, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the flavors infuse while you make the roux. In a large pot over medium heat add 2 tablespoons butter and the flour. Cook, stirring, for about 2 to 3 minutes; don't let the roux color. Strain the infused milk onto the roux, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook, stirring often, for about 5 minutes until the sauce is thick. Remove from the heat and add 1/2 the grated Cheddar and 1/2 the Parmesan; stir until it is melted and smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Pour this over the macaroni, add the chunks of Cheddar, and mix until well blended; put this into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining Cheddar and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top. Bake until the top is golden and crusty, about 25 to 30 minutes.

I have a picture of it in the "What are you thankful for?" thread. go take a look
