After the new Superman movie and speculations of Jason being Clarks and Lois son,how would the comic book world react if they bring Jason into the comics?

I just got a pick at the last page of Fifty-Two 18 and all the comics of last week have the same page, and what do we see? a posted that says "On Vacations ! No Secrets Revealed This week " and in the background a sketch of a soon to be published Superman comic. Just take a look...

Now is it just me or is that a long hair little boy holding something big over his head? but then we see Superman and Perry White (or Richard) and just judge for ur self in the last sceen where Perry or Richard looks really pissd.

Are u guy ready for Jason in the Comics? I dont like the idea and I think is being pushed to us after that horrid Superman Movie.

he's way too old to be supermans son, unless its lanas...

but last i saw her kid was a baby in Austeins action comics, so her kid might be two or three years old now

no jason kent.
why?
jason was teh suck
why name him jason?
supes wouldnt make lois forget he knocked her up
i hate the whole "no sex with powers" cop out, and so should you
and did i mention jason was teh suck?

oh and how did no doctor ever notice jason was only half human? come on... STOOPID... in the comic world supes would have to go to like doc midnite or something... but the comics... they just ignore it... gosh SR was full of plot holes...

Calm the hell down. :o

Is Superman ready for a kid? I would prefer if they waited a while, but I don't think it would be a horrible if they have him a kid now. Granted, this seems to be a different sitatuion with an older child and...who knows how that'll work out. But the basic premise of Superman and Lois with a child, yeah, I think it could work.

Well, the thing i didn't like about Superman Returns wasn't the fact that he had a kid, in fact, I liked the kid, it was just that the movie traveled outrside of the traditional comic boundaries... not to mention they said Superman travels at the speed of light, which is a nod to Pre-Crisis (I hate Pre-Crisis for the inconsistencies)...

as for the kid in the comics, i say, go ahead, let him have the kid, but he has to be born... not a magical five year old...

Nearly all comic book movies do that in some way, shape, or form.

I don't really mind Superman and Lois having a child. They've been married for a while now it is natural for a couple to havea child.

But... this doesn't look like a couple having a child, it's obviously some kid of clone or there abouts.

Anyway; DC will never give Superman a child. It ages him a lot in their eyes. Remember Wally West, finally gets kids with his wife and is then deleted from the DCU.

I don't see anything like this sticking, it is pointless.

Well yeah, but something as big as giving Superman a child should not happen in a movie before even mentioned in the comics...

Sort of true, there is already a Jason...Jason Todd.Besides, the concept of a son for Superman was in the movie,it would not hold up in the DCU.

That's very debatable.

Personally, I'd say it's no worse than making the Joker the killer of Batman's parents, or completely effing up Spider-Man continuity by not introducing Gwen Stacy until the third film.

Well, that's either changing a character's relationship with another character or leaving out a character, but in SUperman Returns, they created a character from scratch with big ramifications on the title character...

And neither of the examples I gave make for "big ramifications on the title character"? And hell, if you want an important character that's created out of nowhere, look at BB and Rachel Dawes.

Yeah, the closest thing I can see is Rachel Dawes... but, as I said, giving a hero a son that isn't ever mentioned in the comics is a big leap into nothingness...

In other words, it becomes original rather than just a rehash of the comics.

Meh, I'd prefer they don't give Supes a kid for a long time to come.

I definitely don't mind Superman having a kid. I didn't mind it in the movie, either.

But I agree that if it's going to happen then have it happen normally, not like some magically appearing Sailor Chibi Moon tomfoolery.

anyone remember the super sons stories from WORLDS FINEST COMICS?[SUPERMAN JR AND BATMAN JR]they were later retconned as clark's first experiments in fiction writing

This sounds like crap. If DC want Superman to have a kid let him have one naturally with Lois. Don't give us some comvulated crap that is only going to be changed and retconned by someone else down the line. This story is clearly only happening to make the comics resemble the awfull SR which is a big mistake on DC's part. I love Geoff Johns work but he needs to take off his Donner/Singer blinders.

Once again, everybody jumping to conclusions. If they do give Supes and Lois a kid, you better believe it'll be the natural way. (Or as natural as it can get with superheroes.) Why? So they can sell a million copys of the birth of Superman's son that's why. Personally, I hope they have a girl.

but ther already is a supergirl

Only if Batman's son kills him with within the year.

I hope so, I hope someone kills him.

lol

look,... "one year later" has given superman the out that allows him to knock lois up and have her have the child safely,...

of course NO ONE in the DC offices saw this and acted on it,. (duh!) so the dodge / opertunity has been lost.

too bad.

Assuming the whole Super control over all bodily functions logic doesn't prevail.
