I've come to a conclusion.

Anyone not bothering to check out the new season after being disappointed last year?

I don't think I watched the show as it was broadcast last year, this year, I really have no interest since I feel is going to be another same "ol'-same ol'" year...

I would think most sane people would choose MNF over Heroes & hopefully MNF will be the death of Heroes

My ex-girlfriend was a fan of heroes and she still watches the show. I don't think she'll she switch over to monday night football unless whoever is ****ing her now makes her change the channel.

You know what i love about Heroes? As if LOST wasnt already good enough, Heroes makes it look even better.

I very recently started watching Lost, and I whole heartedly agree.

The inconsistent writing of characters made me drop the show, haven't been watching this season. Volume's 2-4 were just plain bad, everyone kept changing from good to bad or bad to good, constantly shifting loyalities, inconsistenties in powers, so many deaths of season 1 characters not sticking. I think one of the things that really did it for me was the ecplise episode taking away everyone's powers, the ecplise wasn't what gave them their powers in the first place. They showed that everyone already knew or were using thier powers before the ecplise in episode 1, really pissed me off that they couldn't get their own continuity right with only what less than 50 episodes.

Most viewers that tune in for Heroes on Mondays are loyal fans (like me) who watch to see what happens. The casual viewers have been turned off by the confusing story lines and everything zig zagging left and right. I mean, come on, the whole Tracy plot is just down right OLD. To keep the same actress to play a different character was a waste. It's like oh, we don't know what to do with her original character let's DO THIS!

And Hiro dying? Well, die already! I don't care about you! What's funny is when I began watching the show, I was interested in the Petrelli's, Sylar, Claire, HRG. Now I don't care about Sylar, or Nathan or Claire/HRG. Count Hiro out too. I seriously watch the show because PETER seems to be the absolute most consistent character of the show. He is the HERO of this show if you look back from the very first episode up to now. Honestly who has been more consistent than Peter? Nobody. He has the heart of a hero, the kind of person who wants to do good things, the right way. And if you disagree, please, explain in full detail why? Bottom line, even though Peter may not be everyone's favorite character (he's my favorite) you'd be hard pressed to argue that he's not the most consistent character.

A few reasons this show is doing so poorly is because of the simple fact that it costs a lot for special effects, the writers have run out of original story lines AND they have turned off too many viewers along the way. Face it, the show is doomed to be canceled. They truly lost the ball on the last episode of season 1 IMO. Ever since then, it's been a struggle to regain the mysticism it once had.

I'll continue watching the show because I'm a loyal but very hypocritical fan. This season, so far, I feel as if I'm blindfolded and I have no idea what's going on. They had better concentrate on the strengths of the show (if any) or else it will tank earlier than we expect.

In my humble opinion, they NEED to revolve this show around Peter, Sylar, Nathan becoming president, feed off of the five years gone story line and do it fast. There's so much promise in that. I believe that NBC can regain an audience with that story line because it's dark. Let's face it, people love dark, apocalyptic stories these days.

Completely my point. Along with the ending of Volume I, this is where the show really lost control and fell apart.

Micah is extremely consistent too. There was never a point in his history where he didn't advocate that they should use their powers to help people. In Seasons 1 and 2, he tried to push DL, Nicki, and Monica to do it and by Volume 4 he was old enough and skilled enough to do it himself. He was the only one trying to protect other people during a point where the majority of the cast was looking to protect it's own skin. I think Micah and Peter are my two favorite characters and it's probably because they're two of the few characters remaining that act like heroes. Peter is the main reason I'm watching nowadays though because it doesn't look like Micah is coming back for Volume 5. It's a shame because I'd much rather watch him and Monica (and possibly the rest of the super hero team Micah created in the graphic novels during the events of Volume 4) fight crime together then see the boring subplots of Tracy, Claire, and Hiro. In fact, after Nicki died it would have made way more sense to focus more on her orphan son then to replace her with an identical twin she never knew she had. But of course, they NEEDED to keep Ali Larter on the show didn't they....

Hiro was my favorite character going in. Not so much because of his comedic value, but because while he wanted to be a superhero, he seemed the least threatening in terms of character and physic, giving him an underdog thing. Remember in season one where it hinted at him having to fight Sylar? Awesome. Part of the cool idea was that he would grow into a sword weilding badass. . . now, even when hes dying his a complete joke, and I dont think he even carries the sword anymore. Wasted potentail.

Also, I think Bennet seems too soft now.

The whole thing with Hiro was basically dropped and forgotten allowing him no growth.

I've been a loyal viewer of the show since day one. Even now I never miss an episode. There was alot about the "Villians" volume I hated but never enough to stop watching. The "Fugitive's Volume was a large improvement from the previous volume and this season is proving to be very good as well. They are much more focused on character development now than getting all flashy with the abilities and that is fine with me, that's what pulled me in with the show to begin with.

I wonder if Heroes can pull itself up out of it's slump they way Lost did. I remember a time when people hated Lost because it was caught in a endless loop of going nowhere. Now it's back on top, I wonder if the smae can happen for Heroes. From what I have seen so far all those involved with the show have pulled back and reassessed what they are doing.

Yes I agree with you, they should just kill off Claire and Hiro and bring back Miach, allow his rebel plot to grow. He could bring in Peter on his team, have the guy do all the actioney stuff and be the behind the scenes type of guy. Now this would be a way to run the show, for me yah Peters the only reason I watch two. He's always been my favorite but now he's really the reason why I am still here. He is the true heart of the show. Why they feel the need to push this Claire crap on us is beyound me.

You're right, Micah was consistent but I was truly referring to, you know, the regular cast members. I like Micah and felt he was a bit underused from the beginning. But yeah, I really watch the show to see Peter. I have liked him since the pilot episode. I think it's because a lot of people can relate to his character. Younger brother, the least favorite of the family, can't get out of big brother's shadow, he's a do-gooder and has a big heart even when things get rough for him and don't go his way. He's ALWAYS been there to help someone out or save someone in spite of this, whether it be Claire, Nathan, Noah, his own Mom, Sylar, etc. He's always that good guy who will do good no matter what and NBC better NOT mess with that or change it because the show needs a strong hero. NBC needs to keep the show consistent with each characters origin, the reason why they are the way they are. I miss evil Sylar from Volume I, that typical badass villain that nobody wants to cross. He's like the Joker of Heroes ya know? Now, his character has gotten too light and too comical in a PG fashion. Hopefully that changes, and soon.

I've been waiting for him to turn into a Samurai. I don't think that is going to happen anymore... we'll just be teased with the future Hiro from Season 1 who was really nothing at all.
