It would be nice if it was something other than an alien. Maybe that's why Abrams is keeping it such a mystery. Abrams loves it, as he and the writers did with Lost.

I love everything about this. There's no money shots in the trailer, everything is a mystery, but it makes you excited and want more, which should be until you see the film. Plus it's not in 3D.

That could be a possibility. Alien Rubik's Cube wants someone to solve it, they can't, they get eaten and after it steals your dog and transports it to a neighboring town, just to **** with you.

Agreed: it is nice to see the return of the look/feel of earlier Spielberg films. Besides, with Abrams involved, it is bound to be a good, if not awesome film. Abrams has a good track record.

I must've watched that trailer 30 times now. Which means that it certainly did its job. LOL.

I wasn't totally looking forward to this before (not that I had anything against it, I just wasn't really all that versed in the hype for it), but now...probably one of my most anticipated movies for the summer. Amazing what a little music and well cut trailer can do. As mentioned by countless others, the trailer evokes a wonderful Amblin-era feeling that creates an almost instantaneous nostalgia-driven smile. For some reason, everything about this trailer makes me feel like a little kid at Universal Studios or something. Now, don't get me wrong, because aside from nostalgia, there's still a hell of a lot to be excited about here. Great looking film, intriguing story, awesome effects, true sense of mystique, etc. etc. Such an effective way to promote something without promoting all of it. Bring it on JJ, bring it on.

My favorite moment and shot of the trailer has to be of the push in on the kids when the boy is looking up from the camera with Dekota Fanning's sister is next to him on the left side. And the moments with Kyle Chandler.

And the bike on the street followed by the shot of Kyle Chandler.

My favorite shot was the "I believe you" shot, the one with the fatty being a director, and Kyle Chandler in general.

Oh and, the guy from LOST.
