J.J. Abrams, Undercovers

I'm glad that this looks to be more True Lies and less Mr. and Mrs. Smith (which IMO was bland as hell). I think I definitely might check out the pilot.

Wow, that trailer was long..... and kinda showed ALL of the show in tiny bits! Looked pretty funny

I'm looking forward to it. It's kinda like Hart-to-Hart! But yeah, the action looks solid, and yes, I'm gonna say it, I'm goo-goo for Gugu! I saw that dress drop in one scene, and I was like "JESUS"!!!

I wonder if Michael Giacchino's doing the music.

I'll be giving this one a look come next week, just to see how it plays out. Hopefully it garners an audience and has a hook. Aside from the black cast.

This show is lucky as it is on a night where the only real competition is Survivor. As the rest of the week is busy as hell aside from Wednesday

In about 20 some minutes, Abrams' newest show comes to light. Shall provide commentary as I see it.

I'll watch. Well, I'm DVRing it.

It's a fun show, to be honest. You can tell Abrams directed this pilot. But fun can only take you so far with the ratings.

I'm intrigued as to why they were actually put back in the field. So it at least it has that plot to keep people interested.

Gugu does a pretty good American accent.

At least this Doctor Who actor got their NBC show greenlit

Decent first ep. Gonna watch it mainly for Gugu Mbatha-Raw, naturally. And her sister too. :hehe:

This show bored me. I turned it off half way through.

I enjoyed the pilot, both leads are very likable and play well off each other. The action was solid and the set up for where it can go was nicely laid out, it had all the spy trappings plus chemistry between the leads, hopefully the numbers pick up.

I didn't watch all of this but from what I did watch it seemed pretty solid I just hope it is another Tyler Perry Presents Mr. and Mrs. Smith type situation. :shudders:

She really does. I was worried that I would watch and just see Tish Jones from Doctor Who as a spy. :)

Your post here just informed that it was Tish Jones from Doctor Who. I didn't know that, I didn't know Gugu Mbatha-Raw was putting on an accent, but now that's just a little more to credit her with. (Not that Tish Jones is such a memorable character, but I am a big Who fan.) Anyway, I dug the pilot, and this looks like it should be a really enjoyable series. This show's all about the chemistry between the leads and the light, breezy tone, and both of those aspects have been established pretty well. I will be watching.

I love Abrams to death but this show doesn't interest me. The two leads, apart from good looks, they don't seem like they can carry an entire show together.

Really?

I thought Boris and Gugu had such a fun way of bouncing off one another that made watching them together feel completely effortless.
