Moorcock is Tolkien's nemesis...or viceversa. Something covering Tolkien's time in the trenches and its influence on the creation of Middle Earth would be a pretty strong draw.
I'm sorry, sir, but you either have the sight of a Nazgul or your love of the halfling's leaf has clearly slowed your mind. Tolkien and Cumberbatch look nothing alike other than being both white males of English descent.
Of course, a ton of resemblance is not required for biopics unless the subject of the film has an incredibly iconic and distinctive physical appearance. (eg. Churchill) I was just commenting on the over-the-top declarations of uncanny resemblance, not the suitability to play the part.
I admit I am not an avid Cumberbatch follower, but if he did this, would it be a rare time when he plays a traditional male romantic lead (of sorts)? His insane female following would swoon if this was marketed mainly as a love story.
