Jack Bender has signed on direct Seven Minutes in Heaven for Paramount, reports Heat Vision.

The film, based on an original idea from Bender, tells the story of two teenagers who, upon returning from a round of the titular game, find all of their friends dead.

J.J. Abrams will produce through Bad Robot, now at the stage of finding a writer to move the idea towards a full script.

I hope this doesn't delay Moscow.

Let's start listing the "unexpected twists" right now then:

-They're the ones who died in the closet, and are ghosts
-Being in the closet somehow protected them, because the whole world is dead
-They were teleported by aliens/government scientists while in the closet, and it's an elaborate game/experiment
-The boy is actually responsible for everyone else dying, and took the girl in the closet for a reason (or vice versa)
