Gyllenhaal is a good height He's 5'11

He's an A-lister. People know who he is and he's quite respected in the industry.

He is one of the best actors of his generation. Only the likes of Gosling/DiCaprio/Bale/Hardy is on his level.

He's 37 but can easily pull off 30 years old. Even if the trilogy ends by 2027, he could still look around 40.

Can do physical performances. He bulked up for Prince of Persia and Southpaw

Now would he sign on for a trilogy? Especially since he's been doing loads of indies/Oscar type films of late.

I remember when he was going to replace tobey maguire in 2002 spider-man 2 cause toby macquarie broke his back but toby didn't get hurt bad!! I think Gyllenhaal would make an good bruce wayne / batman!! my faovirte Gyllenhaal movie is source code & price of persia sands of time!!

I like the current actor Ben , but the script writers should show more of Batman and his high tech stuff.

but a cast change now is a lost time. I like Ben, would rather more Justice League movies, maybe 3 or 6. Make more vilians, more humor more action.

Would be better if part 2 is about a other villlian and make part 3 later with Darkseid

Just looking at the current slate for DC movies it will be 2025 if we ever get another Justice League movie. Probably 2030 for a JL3.

The Script can't help the fact that Ben is a total miscast.
He's horrid in this role..

I like Gyllenhaal but he doesn't fit Batman for me.

Maybe in a batman beyond type film, but as bruce wayne? I can't see it.
And I really like him.

another good actor i think would make good bruce wayne / batman is jim caviezel!! he played in the hit tv series on cbs person of interest!! he also played Jesus christ on passion of the christ!! i think he would make good batman!! he was going to play cyclops in the very first x-men but he was to busy making the movie frequency! which i higly recommend checking out!

I'd Like to KEEP Batfleck as Much as Possible!

BUT IF it can't be helped...

Then .. Armie Hammer has My vote.

Caviezel is almost 50 and is about as riveting as a piece of plywood.

I loved Caviezel in Person of Interest, and he was total badass.....but I think he's a bit old for Batman, and just not quite the right kind of energy.

Very difficult part to cast. Bale was my favourite, he had the right mix of physical presence and rage. Okay the bat voice was a bit silly, but in BB and TKS he really kills it

Not sure if Jake could be menacing enough. Will have to think of an alternative and come back later.

IMHO they could do worse than Gyllenhaal at this point.

I maintain it was a bad move by going the Dark Knight route with their version of Batman. It should've been an established veteran version of Batman yes, but not like a Batman who was 20 years into his career.

In hindsight, I think that Bruce Wayne actually should have been a twenty something, hungry and anger vigilante who was as much a relative rookie as Clark was in MOS and BvS.

Even though I didn't like the choice Batman killing, it would have made more sense if it was a Bruce Wayne at 25-29 who was basically still out for revenge and hadn't learned how to temper his anger and who hasn't yet become the Batman we know. Think Miller's Year One Batman as opposed to Miller's TDKR Batman.

It also would have further emphasized the idea of two younger, hungrier contemporaries who both had some learning to do and would both believe their way was the right way. If you had Gadot's ,WW in it as well it would further emphasize the dawn, as it were, of three young idealistic heroes.

A younger Batman would also remove any doubt that this was the Batman of TDK trilogy. Gyllenhaal actually would have been good for this version.

If anything I think Lex should have been the middle aged, 40 something, more traditional ,business man version, who would have manipulated the two younger guys.

Yep, agree with everything you said about Bale.

As for Jake, I think he could be menacing.

Hammer was cast for the role for that Justice League film that fell apart 10 years ago. He's 6'5 and way too tall IMO.

this new actor only would work if the Flashpoint introduces a time change or alteration that states what changed.
Then both supermand and batman actor could get replaced, but even after flashpoint even if we get sarvitar the time change could be latter and make maybe younger versions of the heroes get avtivated earlier? like also flash changing his apperance?
But thats only a idea for a plot twist and cast changes that would make sense through a plot line.

His appearance is quite good but his voice is far too stupid for Bruce Wayne.

With hindsight I think it was a bad move having a Batman so far into his career. For a standalone one-off or even a two-parter I think it could have been really interesting, but not for an ongoing universe. To me they just didn't think that through.

Other than stories/timelines where it's been expressly stated that Clark and Lex are contemporaries (e.g. Smallville, Superman: Secret Origin) I've always seen Lex as older.

Hammer's height is only an inch more than Affleck's though, according to google.

I would like to see him as Batman - I mean , why not ? However, I actually do agree with the voice comments, he does not the voice for the role. Its hard to top Kevin Conroy of course, but Bale, Keaton, and Affleck all had a decent voice for the character. Bale did that Batman voice thing which was even mocked in Ninja Turtles movie, but his Bruce was okay.
