Apparently he met with Marvel recently. The list of heroes he'd likely be interested in is pretty short.

It's either Pym or Dr. Strange. Im basing this on absolutely nothing but hey its fun to guess.

Jake Gyllenhaal had a meeting with Marvel. Which possible franchise would you want to see him appear in & which character?

only time will tell, my guess for what it's worth is he'll play Hank Pym in Ant-Man but that's just my guess.

cool with me, I like him and he would bring a big name to Ant-Man or Dr. Strange, both of which are movies taking pretty big chances.

if he is indeed in talks for a marvel role... what makes you think its a hero role, he could just as easily be up the role of a villain

Sorry, no. Is it possible that he's up for a villain role? Sure. Is it likely? Definintely not.

A-list, hunky leading men in their prime generally don't go for the villain roles in tentpole action movies, especially when they're on the cusp of mega-stardom. Too much money on the table, for one thing.

If he really did meet with Marvel about a particular role, its a starring one. The reasons for this assumption are too obvious and numerous to go into.

kind of young-looking for Stephen. but i guess that stranger things have happened.

on another note, if they want to make Pym bipolar (or similarly mood disordered), he definately has the look.

I got the impression from early rumors that they were looking young for their leads going forward. Id prefer an early to mid 40's Strange, but that's just me.

he'd work. but i also kind of like the idea of Gyllenhaal as Doctor Strange. i think he might help bring some humanity to the character.

I'm hoping it's Doctor Strange. He's able to pull off a beard so I can definitely see him in that role.

    Heath Ledger disagrees.

And Jake Gyllenhaal got his chance as the hero in a big film and audiences didn't care. I'm looking at you Prince of Persia.

I'm all for him playing Ant Man, but can't see him as Dr. Strange. I always imagined Dr. Strange as being quite older.

ideally. but we're talking about movie-Strange. there are no limits on movie-Strange. he's whatever they need. what makes them the most money? i'd love for it to be someone like Viggo Mortensen. but is he as big a draw? is he willing to do sequels? or would he be another Edward Norton?

Very true. I like Gyllenhaal, so if he were to get the role(if that's even what the talks were about)I wouldn't mind. I would just prefer an older actor.

Can't see him in either role to be honest. Too young for Strange especially.

I could maybe see him as Reed Richards out of all Marvel characters

see, that's kind of strange. because i've always seen Reed and Strange as contemporaries. Stephen is older, chronologically. but, physically, they are the two respected seniors of the marvel universe.

I'd rather him play Wonder Man but I think he'd make a good Pym.
