I read early versions of the script, but I can not say anything else James Cameron comes here and kills me. I can say that I’ll be in both, we will turn them one after another and explore worlds that were not touched in the first episode… What is certain is that Cameron will begin filming in the new Avatar only after going underwater in a submarine that will build special purpose. I think it should go up to the Mariana Trench. Having put his hand on the Titanic for the 3D version has given him many ideas for narrative Avatar.

are they bringing her back to life using human alien DNA?

She died while they were trying to transfer her consciousness. I imagine she exists in some way within the network of trees or as part of Ehwa or whatever.

kind of hard to call it a misstep without actually seeing the movie....kind of like finding out Obi Wan would be in Empire and Jedi and call it a mistake

Cameron isn't compromising anything. It is never stated she died and we know consciousness can exist within Ehwa and considering Cameron has a plan I would say bringing Weaver's character back is a part of that plan not some half witted way to "hang out with friends" as you put it.

I don't think bringing back Weaver's character is a step back, it is a progression, Cameron obviously already had a plan for her, otherwise they would've just had her shot or something. The fact that Cameron chose to have them try and save her the way they did tells me he always intended for her to come back and I myself actually thought that when watching the movie first time round.

While James Cameron shot much of his Oscar-winning Avatar in U.S. locations, such as Kauai and the Big Island in Hawaii and the converted aircraft assembly plant in Playa Vista, CA where Howard Hughes built the Spruce Goose, many scenes were also shot at Stone Street Studios in Wellington, New Zealand, and virtually all of the special effects work was performed there at the famed Weta digital effects studio, cofounded by Peter Jackson. Now, it appears that New Zealand will be the home base for Cameron’s sequel to Avatar. Published reports said today (Thursday) that Cameron has applied to buy 2,636 acres of farmland where he and his family “intend to reside indefinitely.” In a statement, the Cameron family said, “We love the rugged landscape and the spirit of the people here, and are looking forward to becoming resident on our beautiful farm. We hope we will be accepted as good neighbours and good members of the community in South Wairarapa.”»

I dunno why they're saying that Cameron is going to film Avatar 2 and 3 in NZ just because he bought a big ass piece of land.

THe movie is shot on blue screens , mo-cap stages and in-door sets.
He could shoot in NZ , Hollywood or the south pole ? How is this good news ?

It's closer to WETA Studios and f*** Hollywood.

the only reason he filmed avatar in NZ was because of WETA. if he was working with ILM he would film it in US. the motion capture was done in US

ILM actually did do a lot of the vehicle effects on Avatar, but weren't called in untill the end for the assist.

So, he's still doing it. I remember there were rumors that Fox wouldn't allow him to do it in fear that the area had become unstable after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan last year. Well, I surely hope nothing happens on this trip.

James looks like a badass with short hair and a beard. when he was promoting Avatar he looked like a very old woman.

smart from him that he got national geographic to pay some money for the diving.


but still. he said that he will do all of this after Titanic so that he could go back to making movies. Battle Angel. James i demand it.
