the point of hes character is to make trouble in the movie and to destroy the tree. he is not important to the main characters and he has no place in the sequel.

Unless Pandora ressurects Quaritch in an Alien body.:hehe:
I know it won't happen but it would've been a nice twist

:whatever:

Yeah, I'm sure Jim will listen to people giving him advice on a sequel because he did something wrong with the first Avatar. It may have pulled in 3 billion instead of a poultry 2.5

The gall of people these days...

i like hes articles. its fan writting.
i dont remember Phil from TMT writting anything negative or insulting the movie. he likes Avatar.

dude

The film blew EVERYONES expectations away. Jim doesn't need to (or should not even) listen to anyone for ideas on an Avatar sequel IMO.

its an article from a fan. Phil from TMT is not expecting that Jim will read this or listen to him. :yay:

Pump the brakes.

It is an article talking about what HE would do with the next Avatar. You should probably read something before commenting on it while shining your mini James Cameron Golden Globe award.

Of course James Cameron doesn't need to listen to Phil, nor should he or would he even read the article. Phil in fact was and is one of the biggest fans of Avatar and James Cameron.

These articles that Phil writes, started off on that little site called ThinkMcflyThink, and they were so successful in regards to hit counts that Phil and the articles are now moving to www.iesb.net.

I read the article, and I don't think what the writer proposed is a bad idea. Na'vi have been protrayed as peace-loving, nature-worshipping tribal people in Avatar; how happens when there is no longer just black-and-white, but have shades of grey? As a Na'vi who is still nevertheless human, Jake would be caught in the middle. I think Cameron will be wise to not just cast humans as the oppressor in the sequel, but have some Na'vi being in the wrong, as well.

I was in the store yesterday and I picked up the Entertainment Weekly with Jake and Netyri on the cover and I skimmed through the article and Cameron actually says something like "I actually put a couple scenes in the movie specifically to set things up for the sequel."

I am extremely curious because never for a second during the movie did it ever feel like that was happening.

I agree. Everything felt pretty self-contained.

The only thing I can imagine being a set up for a sequel is perhaps the other tribes.

you can give that kind of answer for every movie. even for Titanic.

''i hinted in titanic for a sequel. but i wont tell you ''

Well the ending surely left off on a cliffhanger, where jake opens his eyes and the screen quickly cuts to black.
That was a perfect example of "to be continued"

it was not a cliffhanger IMO. but it ended in a way where everyone in the theater knew that there was going to be a sequel. a lot of them even joked about it when walking out.

I am just concerned that for some reason they will loose something for feel of Fox needing a sequel. I am not sure if all movies that are big like this needs a sequel.

I just think the film alone needs no further story. I think id be less interested in it as much if they make sequels for money sake.

Id like a sequel only if the story is a little better this time around.

a sequelhanger.
Again my concern is this Pirates 1 while i like the sequels fine. But i feel the mistakes there was forcing a seqeul into and not seqeul story.

I think if would have made new co stars in each sequel a bit like Indiana Jones is needed.

I'd hate to see Avatar make a sequel like Pirates and ruin the story in the first film.
Yes make a sequel but only if the story is there.

Pirates was not made by the master of sequels, James Cameron.

If he can make a great sequel to Alien and Terminator, he can make a great sequel to Avatar. Even if it doesn't seem like it's possible.

Well my view is Avatar 1 and Pirates 1 were on the same Par for me. Obvious BO difference but for me they are equel in being a fun film which both were.

But i don;t think orginally a sequel was in mind and hate to see a forced sequel here is all if not needed.
